I don't know what you are asking but NGC always puts close AM or Wide AM on the label if the varitity exist.

In 1992 there is a regular one and a wide AM.

I think this guy might be confused. I think he sent it and they just slabbed it as is I believe. If I am not wrong, the Close AM version is the one that is worth anything. I think he is trying to fool someone.

The seller is not doing anything wrong and I own a 1992 Wide AM. There is no close AM for 1992.

I'm only raising the question because I'm not aware of a closed AM on the 1992. By NGC putting the WAM on the slab, it would make someone assume that there's also a WAM for that year. It just seem misleading by NGC, not the seller.

I don't get your point, there is a regular one and wide am one.

    NGC has graded 126 1992-P and 192 1992-P Wide AM's.

Wide am is the normal one for 1992. Close ones are very rare ( it's just the opposite for the succeeding years).

    What he said!

The normal strike of the 92 is a wide AM. If you find a close AM in a 92, you have found a rare and valuable coin. It is the opposite later with the close AM starting in 93 and wide AM varieties in 98, 99, and 2000. The 99 being the most valuable of the 3.

This guy is looking for some poor indivual that knows nothing about Lincoln cents. Yes, it's a red MS68 BUT $49.00 FOR A 1992-D? uh, uh. NOT!

.......the way i understand this is:

the wide AM is for proofs and the die mistakenly was used for circulated coins for certain years such as the years 98, 99, and 2000.

JELLO, If you look above at Shatzy's post, his list is also in order of rariety and value.
A 1999-P or D WAM is worth much more than a 2000 WAM. Check your Red Book. I know it is easy to get confused when so many offer the same advice in different ways. I've been there, and done that.
