1943 nickel error?

Going back to the well Imy question is about the mint mark. Is this a possible repunched mint mark

Is cleaning coins a no no what's the census paddyman

 

Some say never clean any coin.. I say if it is not a valuable coin then clean away!
I have used Baking Soda on the majority of my metal detected silver. Especially the Silver War Nickels.

That's just my humble opinion.

 

I don't think this question has ever been raised here. For the war nickels, was the mintmark punched into the working die by hand or was it incorporated into the master die? I don't recall ever seeing a war nickel with a mintmark repunched or misplaced.

 

Is that PVC green ?

 

Plain and simple, it's damage. You can see the displaced metal on the upper right.

 

Rats. When I super zoom, it looks like a bunch of black eyed tad poles. That is interesting.

 

There are lots of listed RPMs. I don’t know of any misplaced mint marks though.

I’m not seeing a RPM so I would say melt value.
