Believe it or not, I found this Nickel in my mother in law’s change bucket. I couldnt believe it when I saw it. I am having some trouble with the grade. The reverse looks almost Unc, great luster. The obverse has some luster but much more subdued than the reverse. au55-AU58 is my guess. Wondering if obverse has been cleaned. Maybe the reason for the lack of luster? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
It kind of looks cleaned nice strong strike if it is a straight grade I would give it a 64-65?buffalo's are so hard and confusing!!!
That’s a honey. Is there any way we can see it in truer color? I agree with my esteemed colleague on the grade range.
Not the best place to put it looks like a scratched up table this coin could be worth hundreds in straight grade mint state condition just saying
You are so right. Im fearing some pvc damage on obverse, but for the $0 price its a win win. The reverse is so much nicer than obverse.
Wow, what a nice find! Although, I do have to disagree with my peers grades just a bit. You can see some clear bag marks on the obverse, which I believe makes it a MS62-63. Still beautiful!
there's a lot going on with this coin, IMO. Weak strike or grease on rev, shoulder and rear legs. Weak "1" in date on obv and strong hair strike on side of head. There is a coppery sheen on both rev. and obv. ergo, possible cleaning? AU55.
