Look at what’s in the BB hole...

I got this one solved. The engraver put the mint mark on the nose to be funny but the marksman with the BB gun who found it lying in the street didn’t think it was so funny and tried to shoot it off. But that didn’t work so he just spent it at the Dairy Queen on a large chocolate shake with whip cream and an extra cherry on top only to relinquish it to a collector who immediately appreciated its numismatic significance and socked it away but since lost it when his house was burglarized. But as the burglar like the marksman wasn’t a collector he just up and spent it again and anyway that’s how the OP ended up with it. But that’s the only way this S on the nose makes any lick of sense.

Welcome to CT, where you will get a bizillion answers to your questions, all you have to do if figure out which one works for you. By the way the "unsearched rolls" you quote is only UNSEARCHED by you. The large purchasers of wheaties and IHP's pay people to sit down and search every roll they have to make sure all the "goodies" are pulled out. The ones you get are the ones they do not want.

...if struck by a MINT produced mintmark die punch, the S on the coin would be incuse and backward. This is just damage and wishful thinking...imo...Spark

hey Jennifer Bond welcome to CT. from your pictures i zoomed in on the spot you are saying is a the "Raised S" mint mark. ive got to say the picture does look like a raised S but the guys that have posted before me have way more experience than me on error type coins. how there made, how errors can happen and a whole lot of experience on other topics as well. maybe my picture can help someone see what's really happened to this coin. good luck 1935 Lincoln Penny Wheat back.JPG4.JPG
