Ok, more like 11. Ran out of money today before I ran out of banks. Here is my haul. I'll post pics of my finds so far, in a few.
5 Ikes. The halves (from 87-95) look like they came right from mint sets! 2 40%er (66 and 68). 1976 Bday $2, 2001 $1 star and my 2nd $2 red seal in 2 days (1963)! Didn't even see that one when the tellers were counting them out. Still have more $2's to go through.
80 or 90 mile trip I take once or twice a month. The red seal is XF and the 76 bday has no folds, but some crinkle. I also dropped of some strawberry shortcake (organic strawberries from my garden) to my main tellers. I got hugs and everything!
A big smile, hold the door open for others coming into the bank, make a few jokes or small talk, go to banks that I get positive feedback from on a regular basis, treats and whatnot for the tellers, and show them some interesting finds (this helps to educate them, so they keep more to the side for me). Rule #1 though is: don't do it when they are busy, Wednesdays seem to be good. Also, I am TheNoost. Look for the post on how folks got their nickname on Cointalk for an explanation of what a noost is.
Congrats on your finds TheNoost. Seems pretty cool, I want to here what you have in all those half dollar rolls! Hope you got some nice silver ones
Super! This I believe is the second time you posted on Coin Talk after one of your excursions. Fun way to spend an afternoon.
T$-this time was 2 40%ers. Last week it was $37 of 40%ers. Mr. Coinlover- Pretty much turned a 1 hour have to do drive into a 4 hour tour(including construction). It is too much fun, especially when I find good stuff. Just finished up and didn't find much else. Maybe $60 worth of bills with ink/writing/stampings on them to experiment with. Got to figure out how to get the wheres george off. Maybe I will get my papermoney PHD soon LOL. Thanks for the replies!
Out of all those rolls, only 2 40% silvers? I thought that was that one little lot you showed around the paper, BUT ALL THOSE ROLLS 2 40% silvers. OUCH. Well, at least ya' had fun, and I can't wait to here what you get next time.
The lot aorund the pm are BU halves that look like they came from mint sets. They were all rolled together, 2 rolls plus 2 coins. Upgrades for the Whitman!
I have to admit, some of those babies have luster like none other, and just are astounding coins. Thanks for sharing your finds :thumb:
