Lovely coin, but remember, this thread is supposed to be for "wings on things nature never intended." I believe I've heard that bees do have wings naturally! Although I do try not to get close enough to them to confirm that personally.
Wings on both Medusa and the sword used to kill her: Rome, moneyer Sabula, 74 BC, fourrée denarius, 2.96g 18mm Pontos, Amisos, 85-65 BC, 2.64g, 15mm Münzen & Medaillen GmbH (DE), auction 17, October 2005, lot 731; ex Münzen und Medaillen AG, Basel - Lagerliste 474 (1985), 148. Everyone in this myth had wings. Perseus' shoes are sometimes shown with wings on coins, although I lack a decent example to show.
OK, I finally found what I feel is the earliest example of a winged "beast" on a coin... Ionia Uncertain (BC 650-600) EL Stater ca 650-600 BC. EL Stater (14.22g). Milesian standard. Figural type. Sphinx seated left on ground line; cross with terminal pellets to left / Irregular incuse. Unpublished. Good VF. Unique. This previously unknown type almost certainly has an Ionian origin, but the specific mint remains unknown. The sphinx appears as a civic emblem on archaic coins of both Chios and Samothrace, but Samothrace did not issue electrum, and the electrum staters of Chios, although struck on the same weight standard as the present coin, are of a distinctly different style (cf. Baldwin, Chios, pl. I, 1-12). The cross with terminal pellets -- perhaps a solar symbol is exceptional by its appearance here as a subsidiary symbol. Such subsidiary symbols are rare on early electrum (but cf. Triton VIII, lots 399-405, for the use of a pentagram or a triad of pellets as symbols on the early electrum of Ephesos). The cross with terminal pellets does appear on other uncertain early electrum (cf. Trait‚ I 7, pl. I, 6) and is employed regularly as a reverse type on the electrum of Miletos (with a central pellet in addition to the terminal pellets; cf. SNG Kayhan 440-449).
Some more things with wings. An M. Fonteius denarius with Apollo on the obverse and another winged Cupid (or Infant Genius) on the reverse, seated on a goat: A C. Mamilius Limetanus denarius with Ulysses & Argus on the reverse, and Mercury on the obverse wearing a petasus with two wings: A C. Servilius M.f. denarius with the Dioscuri on the reverse, and Roma on the obverse wearing a winged helmet: A Naevius Balbus denarius with Venus (or Juno) on the obverse, and a winged Victory driving a triga on the reverse: A Ti. Claudius Nero denarius with Diana on the obverse, and a winged Victory driving a biga on the reverse: A Septimius Severus denarius with a winged Victory on the reverse: I'll leave out all the miniature Tinkerbell-variety Victories held in people's hands. 16 coins posted in this thread is plenty!

SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles. 317-289 BC. AE 23 (10,39 gm; 23 mm) ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ wreathed head of Persephone left / Nike in biga to right; star above. SNG ANS 768. Calciati II, 259, 123. This piece is fascinating, it is a very unique design and unlike the more common contemporaneously issued bronzes with Artemis and the Thunderbolt. This piece features the Goddess, Persephone, and the reverse of Nike in Biga on the reverse. In essence this piece is a design more typically found in silver pieces, such as Tetradrachms.
You know Tokyo has really had a hard time of it in past 100 years. They had had to put up with Godzilla/ Mothra/ Rodan/ and Ghidorah....
Here is my cutie, the real Komodo Dragon. A Dutch neighbour had a fully mounted male Komodo in his house. He had brought it back from Dutch East Indies.
