Do us a favor. Tell us WHY it's a fake (besides the "from China" clue). That will give me (and others?) a chance the next time something like this shows up.

Guy's I am seconding Kanga here can you tell us why you believe this to be a fake. I have never seen one of these coins before so please tell us why.
Look at the feedback. A couple of the positives on page 3, the buyer replied to again noting they were high quality fakes he received. So that's a couple positives that should be negatives. Another guy spent $168, found out what he got were fakes, left only a neutral feedback and then said, "Thanks anyways." What's wrong with people? Note that the last feedback was a negative stating that they got ripped off with a fake, but ebay reimbursed them. Note that this cost ebay money to reimburse him, so they were obviously notified but here this seller is still selling.
Look at how weak the central details of each side are compared to the details at the borders. The coin looks to have considerable wear in the centers, but that doesn't match the borders. It's because the missing detail is due to the way it was made, rather than being circulated.
If it's a fake it's a decent one, at least to my untrained eyes. Besides what Mark mentioned, the eye areas look a bit odd, especially on Washington but a bit on Lafayette too, but could be the lighting. Also, the way Washington's hair wraps around the A looks more filled in or something, maybe wear?
I have seen several on Ebay that look virtually identical to that one - I am quite certain that it is a counterfeit. There is a group of counterfeit Isabella Quarters making the rounds too. Over time, you will probably see others that look just like it and will say to yourself something like "There's another one".
Yes, the eyes of Washington look off to me. Compare pics and I believe you will see it too. Plus, I hadn't even considered what Mark said, and after looking at it again, it makes a lot of sense. And, you have that china thing going on....
No doubt in my mind this "THING" was made to entice the novice collectors to a great bargain. hmmmmm. Probably some lil old lady in "fwake fom mei" province in china , made this.
I agree. This coin has all the diagnostics of a DuVall 1-B. I have never been any good at authenticating coins which is why I like to rely on PCGS or NGC to do it for me. If you could tell us why this coin is a fake, we would appreciate it. Thanks!
For no other reason than it just don't look right...... That coming from a guy who knows nothing about this coin other than what he has read and observed in this forum.
Fakes abound, this one looks fairly typical. Here is a link to a genuine on on Heritage, I chose it because it is au details and has been polished- the coin in question has odd surfaces, so I didn't think that an MS example was appropriate. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1125&Lot_No=9069&src=pr As Mark pointed out, note the very weak central detail on the suspect compared with the genuine coin, and yet the fake has sharp rim detail (even a bit of a 'wire rim'). To my eyes, the lettering does not "pop" and look sharp and square edged as on the genuine item. The surfaces display a look I call "Beijing mint frost" because it has a weird, artificial look to it that comes from either an acid bath or the behavior of the alloy used to make the coin. It is not due to metal flow lines as on a genuine coin. It also, to my eye, does not look like the surface of the polished coin. These things are everywhere on the internet, some have even been put in fake pcgs or anacs slabs.
Thanks for all the input, people. It's particularly helpful to me since I'm toying with a set of early commemoratives. Not surprisingly the Lafayette dollar is one I don't have yet.
You can report this to eBay and they won't do a thing about. all they want is there fees & Pay Pal too! I reported so many I stopped counting & 99% of the items sold

Like a 1916 D dime, don't buy one of these unless it is certified. Too many fakes. Mind you, TPG certification is only as good as the guaranty of authenticity.
I own a Lafayette Dollar graded by Anacs ms-60. Compairing the fake/Real, Washington's nose is straight at the bottom on the real coin and The fake has a downward pointed arch ? I hope this helps. Also, this fake coin looks to be cleaned.
