Announcement for everyone who entered my contest. If you entered, but did not win a prize, you can send me a PM with your address if you'd like me to send you a Lincoln Rail Splitter Cent from the Denver mint.
Just because all of the pictures were so great.

Both pictures are deserving of winning. I'll abstain from casting a vote.

    Great contest AdamL
Both finalist photo's are well done, kudo's to the photographers. My vote went for the Bird pic. The composition, depth of field control all contributed to focusing the eye on "the monent of flight" I swear I can actually see the motion....

    Wow. I'm getting slaughtered!

Yeah, I'll have to admit, the Bird picture is a little better than my Mantis. The color is real nice, and the focus is dead on. Mine actually looks a little out of focus when you look at it in the larger resolution. Either way, I'm glad to have even done this well with my picture, there were a lot of really good pics!

Thanks for holding the contest Adam!

I used a Canon 30D with a Canon 400mm lens for the blue brid pic. I now use a Canon 5D and a Canon MK-III. I'm glad you liked the photo. Thanks.

Don your bird pictures are amazing. This is the only one I have. :) I titled it Hawk Munch - I went back into get the camera and the hawk flew off. I wish it would get more of the pidgeons around here.

I love Canon equipment just cannot afford the new digital lens :(

I have a 35mm Canon 3 and the new digital Canon SX10IS. Both have their place and some day maybe I can pick up an upper end DSLR with some good Telephoto IS lenses...

Thanks again for sharing such great shots - the equipment makes a big difference but you still have to know how to use it and have an eye for what works!

There both really good but I vote for the bird as the definition that was caught is unbelievable.

Caption for the mantis: "No, really! It was THIS big! I swear!"

Caption for the bluebird: "Aw man. Now my feathers are going to look all wind blown. I knew I shouldn't have flown with the windows down."

    My vote: The mantis.
