This is not my question, but I told the person I would ask here.

"random currency question from a stamp guy who can't help but stray over into other things made of paper. Is there any standard literature for national bank notes other than the Kelly book and census CD (which I gather is now in 6th edition)?"

I'm coins only so I have no idea of the answer.

for nationals i use "Standard Catalog of National Bank Notes" its put out by Krause Publications. the version i have is like 15 years old but it is accurate when it comes to the different national notes and population reports. the prices are way off but i can tell by trends what the note would be worth. there are many other books to go for for regular notes. you have the "The official red book of united states money" also the "standard catalog of US money". if you search amazon you will find a lot of books. also do a search on this site there are many other posts about great literature. hope that helps.
