Note: copying and pasting no longer works; one has to download and then upload the photo. (this is the coin from cplradar)
Of all the circulating Euro coins, the one I like the best is modern but depicting an ancient. Greece, 1 Euro, 2005 Bi-metallic
It is not a bug? The data is in the code. It seems to be just not intepreted by the javascript through CSS
Not sure...something with the forum software...there was a thread on it here but no solution yet: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/looks-like-hotlinking-external-images-is-broken.374774/
I've always thought the design used on Italy's 100 lire coins for most of the second half of the 20th century was excellent. It doesn't exactly copy a specific ancient coin, but it pays proper homage to Italy's ancient history:
It's also not letting me upload from my photo hosting site (Imgur). The two pics I was able to post were uploaded from my laptop.
That is pretty much the only method I'm using now. If the photo is on a hosting site, you need to download it to your computer, and then upload here.
As far as a current circulating coin. This may sound silly.... But I love the 2002 Indiana state quarter..... I have quite the “thing” for racing cars!
I don't know if this is my favorite circulating coin design, but it is my favorite picture of one http://www.mrbrklyn.com/coins/11252008/sac_2000_d_2_rev_GREAT.png http://www.mrbrklyn.com/coins/11252008/sac_2000_d_2.1_revsm.png
These are proof versions, but these designs are still circulating... Hands down for me it's the obverse of the Sacagawea dollars. As an entire coin it's the Native Americans in Space issue. But my second favorite is also a small dollar design...the reverse of all the American Innovation dollar designs with the beautiful large empty field as a back drop to Lady Liberty. Here it is in reverse proof because... reverse proof!
