Astronauts, on bills. And Scientists, and doctors, and teachers.

Other countries do this...and we sort of did...

You're wrong also. Grant is on the $50. Franklin is on the $100.

I always wondered whether the people responsible for Jackson being on paper money realized the irony of putting him on a Federal Reserve note, when Jackson fought so hard and successfully to dismantle the Second Bank of the United States (as a Philadelphian, I walk past the Second Bank building and Nicholas Biddle's home all the time). Also I have read, though I can't confirm this, that he was a gold / silver backing advocate, so putting him on any type of paper currency would've been ironic, too. It's probably a good thing that Andy wasn't alive any more when all of this happened. :)

Just a thought, but those who wish to replace current currency vignettes should not attribute changes to the U.S. Mint.

Such an interesting concept. I'm curious how this will occur once/if its actually taken into effect

A lot of people call all of our paper money "presidents", with the exception of the $100 bill, which is a "Benjamin".

I've never heard that, but they should also consider that Hamilton on the $10 was also never president.

    He's right about it, it's a slang.

This is the first time I've ever heard about that slang term. It could be regional. I don't know. It's not accurate in any case, but it's only a slang term.

I've heard those too, except it's usually "dead presidents," not just "presidents"!

Today they're called "dead white presidents."

That’s the first time I’ve heard race added to the phrase. I’ve always heard Dead Presidents. All of our former Presidents that have passed away are Caucasian...white seems unnecessary.

He was just making fun of what he imagines "liberals" who "hate white people" would say.

Not liberals. Only the crackpot types.

This is where I say, there are crackpots on both sides. They come by "extremists." I think that could be better said, hence, crackpots.

To the East to meet the Czar
    Run with me
    Run with me
    Run with me
    Let's run
    Whoa!"
