I have had some unusual finds while searching nickel rolls; Panama, Mexico, UK, game tokens, and, of course, enough Canadian nickels to start a collection for them. This one is the best yet, Somalia. Not sure just how it made it into a nickel roll.

That is some nice toning, but the thing that has weirded me out the most was when I found a cent in a dime roll

2 rolls of pennies - One log cabin.

    Well, back at it tomorrow...

To answer that- it's worth whatever someone will pay for it. I once found a circulated proof Kennedy in rolls. It was nothing special let's say a 1989-S
and was well scratched. I put it on e-Bay and for some reason it got caught in a small bidding war. A woman from CA was the high bidder at $18.00 plus postage. So you never know...

Is there anything special about these westward journeys coins? I just ignore them, they seem to be everywhere

Yep, they are everywhere, I don't especially go out of my way to collect them all, but noted the number I found in regards to how many rolls I searched. Their overall light impressions show wear rapidly and ony from a couple years of circulation. Still I don't come by too, too many of them as it seems people hoarded them when they were first released and are probably still holding tight for whatever reason. I personally like the '05 P&D Bison reverse designs so I DO hold onto them. Of all the new nickle designs I seem to come across the Bisons least in my searches. That's all.

Oh I see, do they fetch a nice price on ebay? I literally come across a ton of them all the time, especially the boat one

doubt it, not in circulated condition anyway... go search the completed auctions on eBay to find out and let me know what you find

Yesterday I searched four rolls of large sized dollars from bank:

Someone turned these in and I was hoping for gold (or rather silver). Nope, just 80 bucks worth of clad Ikes.

    Also, 8 rolls of pennies:
    3 wheats 56d, 56d, 48
    7 log cabins.

    2 log cabin pennies
    1 1942 wheat penny
    1 1958D wheat penny

Found this in a roll today and I was stunned. The strike and the look of this cent is just beautiful. My son thinks I'm crazy for calling a penny "beautiful," but it is!

I love the higher relief of the older cents. I wish the picture would do it justice...

At the bank yesterday looking for stuff and a teller told me to come back tomorrow. There would be someone there that has some silver halves. So, I arrive at the bank a couple of mins before that teller is supposed to arrive today. She has the halves. $37 of 40%ers. Marked in marker on the side of the rolls what dates they are. The teller even knew they were silver! Doin the happy dance.
