The Los Angeles ANA is only a few weeks away. It's at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90015. I'll be there at tables 356 and 358 in the Budget Section (under Penny Lady), so please be sure to stop by and say hi! I know AJ and Rick Snow will be there, so who else is planning on going? Here's the link to the show info: http://www.worldsfairofmoney.com/index.php?id=52 And here's a link to the club and dealers who will be there: http://www.worldsfairofmoney.com/assets/files/ShowInfo/BourseDealerList_LA.pdf
I would love to make the trip to LA and bring the family to see the mouse, the beaches and all the other great places. However, air fares are high and it will be difficult to make this trip happen. BTW, I see that the convention center is on Figueroa - how far is it from USC ?
It's very close, just a few miles south off the 110 freeway - here's a map (reduce the map a little and you'll see USC to the south): http://www.planetware.com/map-of/los-angeles-los-angeles-convention-center-us-ca-lacon.htm
Fine, you will be in L.A.? I wont have a booth at A.N.A. but I will be there the first 2 days! lets make sure to meet up an say hi!
If air fares are really dropping, I may have second thoughts and make a trip. I have not been back to LA for a while and I went to grad school out there. Maybe I can meet you guys and have a Fatburger on LaCienega and San Vicente. Get the fryer ready, I am ordering a double king bacon chili cheese fatburger with egg... Oh yeah, I forgot, and the ANA show is there too!
Don't do it 900! It's really a kind of poison to make you buy stuff from her. but beware, I declined the drink and still made a purchase!* *she's got good stuff, what can I say.
Oh, Mag, now my secret's out! I was hoping you wouldn't notice that I added a special ingredient so that all my coins look like Gem MS69 Reds and it makes you happy to pay me lots of money!
Fares are in the $200 to $300 range...not bad, LAX is cheap to fly into. Is the "mouse" still huge out there, or has Epcot taken over the world? Maybe I can buy some nice stuff and check out football practice at SC... I need to convince my wife...
Yes, the original Mouse is still huge out here, plus there is California Adventure right next to it, and there's Knott's Berry Farm just down the road. But be sure to tell your wife there are some amazing MALLS here too (South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island are pretty amazing and right here in OC and there are some good ones in LA too! I'd be happy to give her a detailed map!
Right on bud, we WILL partay, lol Reminds me, I have a reply you are due. I'll be there for sure. We will need a meet up place, say like Charmy's tabloe at a given time everyday...that always works at Long Beach Untill I lose some of these dollars, I'll prolly just be a window shopper, but would never miss an ANA west of the Mississippi.
LaCienega and San Vincente is Culver City, me might as plan on Canters on Fairfax....the Melrose District GREAT pastrami and corned beef
That would be perfect for me if you all could meet at my table say around 1:00 pm each day (I'm at tables 356 and 358 in the Budget Section in the back of the room)!
Is the original Pantry still downtown? Home of an incredible steak and eggs breakfast. Great power feed before search to complete your collection. Cantors sounds great in the Melrose district. I live out there for a little while before I started grad school.
