Babylon tet from old CNG 2015. 2. Tiny 10th stater or obolos from Kyrene. 3. Attractive Justin II solidus. 4. Carthago early EL stater with good almost gold color and strange dots combination. 7.7 grams.
Got these 2 coins from Carthago with mintmark 3 dots , although these are in a triangular form, yours are in line.
Three dots in triangle at right low field also common for early pure gold staters. I suggests it may be a close connection between EL and AV series and may be for clear differentiation in hands for first EL coins this dots in line. May be...
The Carthage Stater looks like its more then 90 % gold. Beautifull coin. Strange, Friedberg lists Dinara from Kashmir (Kidarites) as AV / some have 5% gold content. Starange but true John PS: I tried for the 1/10 AV Kyrene Stater at Triton/ lost out. I managed one from German dealer Fenzl
I think first 2021 CNG auctions show to us a new reality with high demand and prices for good antique coins. But in some old proposition and stocks there are some coins which are have been a little bit pricy earlier. But now with old prices they are looks good to purchase.... So, we are do the same - purchase from old stocks. After some time they all will change their price lists...
