Counterfeit is counterfeit, I don't think 30 days would matter. It's not like you just weren't happy with it. I'd really push it.

yeah, the only options I gave the seller is a full refund or I am going to open a fraud case thru Etsy against her, we'll see what that does and if she refuses to give me a refund I will not hesitate to open a case against her, I've done it before and I can certainly do it again

If I received a coin that looked that much different than the images, it would have been returned the same day.

look at the V, it looks different and it sits too high compared to the other letters. On the real one, the letters are even vertically. Yours are not. The point of the V is also too short

After contacting the seller she said the only way she will give me a refund is if I have photo proof that it is a fake from a "respectable third party" does anybody here know of a place online where you can send pictures of your coin to get an opinion by a professional grader? Or even a couple of members of CT who I've heard are professional graders? I'm willing to spend $100 or so to get $600 back, and the seller will not accept this thread as proof

The Seller sounds like a dirt bag preying on new collectors. Ask them them if they will refund the cost of authentication if it is a fake.

i would also Push back on her for the use of stock photos. The coin sent was significantly different than the pic. Keep making a stink, report them through stay. Coins are not crafts where everyone is slightly different. Coins like the SVDB can vary greatly in value depending on the condition.

You may still be able to try to get the charge refunded through your credit card or PayPal

You have every right to push for a refund, whether it's a fake or use of stock photos. The response from the seller makes me think they are just trying to get you to roll over and take it. And if they do it to you, they are doing to other new collectors as well.

Keep pushing the seller. Assuming everything you posted is accurate (there are always 2 sides to a story but I don't see anything here that makes me doubt you), the seller is trying to cheat you.

This first one is the seller on Mercari that I bought the 09 -s VDB off of (Dr.Sammie-PhD)
and the second one is the seller on etsy that I bought an 09-S that also turned out to be fake, I've definitely learned my lesson; DO NOT BUY RARE COINS UNCERTIFIED

Sorry I misspoke about that, Etsy is where I bought an 09-S that also turned out to be fake... but yes that was a big mistake:(

The rims are wrong. Look at the wire rim all the way around the reverse. A coin struck that hard would not be mushy.

And the seller counts on people "not getting around to" following up on things like this. But for $600, it's certainly worth the effort.

This is flat-out fraud, involving counterfeit coins. The seller doesn't have a leg to stand on, and knows it. Maybe you should tell the seller that if you need to go to the expense of obtaining legal proof for this obvious-on-its-face fake, you're definitely going to provide that same proof to postal authorities for a Mail Fraud investigation.

Before going nuclear, though, has the seller listed other S VDBs or similar key dates? If this was a one-off, it's possible that it wasn't intentional.

I agree, the overall look of the coin is questionable. The only way to be sure is to submit it to NGC, PCGS etc to have it authenticated.

William. You should remove your address in the post above. Not a good idea to post it on any forum.
