I found 7 more in circulation today.

I also sold 5 rolls for an average of $63 a piece.

    Please, don't let it stop...

I have yet to find a single one. Seemingly only the rich get richer.

I don't want to sound bitter cuz I;m definitely not. I am truly happy for both of you.

I read most of this long thread. Crazy! A fool and his money are parted! Did the same thing happen in 2008, 2007, 2006 as fools rushed to be the first to own such examples of "rare" coins that weeks or months later could be found in your pocket and were worth face value?

Those 2009 nickels were selling for $100 2 weeks ago and now are selling for $20 each. Their value will plummet very rapidly once more are released and rolls of those will be sold and as those buy rolls, some will try to flip them and sell individuals. I give it a year before they are selling for a dime each.

I do remember that in 1999, state quarters were selling for $40 per roll and like $3 each! I found some in circulation the same time! Probably shoulda sold them and made a few bucks total.

Im a computer guy and remember fools paying $1000 to be the first to own a new CPU or video card a month before it became available in stores for half or a third the price. Even after it became available in stores, a year later prices halved again. I then was able to pick up those computer parts for pennies on the dollar a couple years later. The computer I have cost me only $200 and it's very fast! It used to cost ten times that 3 years before I bought it! That's why I always buy 2-4 years behind the curve.

I once did overpay and spent $200 on an Athlon 64 CPU that was costing $400 6 months earlier. It dropped to $100 less than a year after I spent $200 on it.

There was a tulip bubble long ago and a beanie bubble a decade ago. I still remember that one and how some beanie babies were selling for over $1000! They have lost over 90% of their bubble value. I am still waiting for the house bubble to fully deflate before I buy a house cheap to live in.

You know they're going to be common and I know they're going to be commom.

But we could both be wrong. The vast majority of these will probably sit in storage until they are needed again. But this could be a long time from now. I certainly hope the economy gets popping again soon but this is no certainty. We are at a crossroads in technological development and resource availability. What if it's three or four years before the economy is showing strong growth again. A great deal can change by that time and inflation could simply make a dime as superfluous as the cent is today. A dime certainly isn't much money now so how much will it be if a few trillion of the debt is monetized? With the world population still increasing and resources increasingly scarce the government would quite possibly just recall all the coins and melt them all which would include all the dimes in storage which now includes almost the entire production of 2009 dimes.

I don't like betting against the economy but a dollar wager on one of these really isn't all that kooky. Me? I'll wait. I think these will end up being the most common of all clad dimes in uncirculated condition and that there will be at least a few million saved.

Until then only time will tell.

I believe the housing bubble fully deflated in March/April this year. I've read that the sales have started to SLOWLY creep up again. According to numbers from May.

I bought at the end of March. So don't wait too long!!

From the "experts" I read, hot spots (Calif, etc.) prices decline until end of next year. Then lay flatline for 1-2 more years. Then small upticks in 2012. I'm a homeowner in So Cal., but not moving so I have no dog in this fight. No rush at all to buy here.

Ill place my bets that those dimes will drop down to 20 cents per BU coin and circulated examples might be worth 12 cents. Not even worth your time searching them out, youd make more money working at McDonalds. You can get them at banks for face value today and in some places, find them in your change. So this tells me those dimes will never be rare. I highly doubt the mint will melt clad coins, have they ever in the past?

Thats what people have been saying for over a year now and yet prices still drop. Ive read a major house bubble blog and almost everyone who posts there says those who buy now are "knifecatchers" besides im not worried about being priced out. If prices really stop dropping in my state, there's many other cheaper states id rather live in anyway.

That guys gonna make over a grand for a few minutes of work! I bet whoever buys the box will flip those dimes and sell them individually and by the roll. Bulk quantity discount. Bet those buyers will feel like fools when those dimes drop down to $10 per $5 roll in several months.

    It ended at $1525.00

Not bad for a $250 investment.

All this tells me that I made the right decision selling my 28 rolls as FAST as I could. I sold a bunch on 2nd chances at 10 bucks cheaper than the going rate because I think the prices will fall very, very soon. My last roll closes tonight and I'm selling lots of 4 dimes for about 8 to 10 bucks....hopefully that will hold until I'm out of them.

Some idiot from Puerto Rico started BINs for nickels at $15 and the minute that happened the prices came down crashing from $20-30 to just above $15.

I asked him to stop BIN and explained to him that it is not good to do BIN and his reply was "My price of $15 is fair". Like he's trying to do people a favor or something.

Some people I just dont understand. Look for rolls to hit Ebay very soon because of this guy

Manny, you're in the service-get your rifle, because when someone puts rolls up when singles are selling for $15 they should be shot. Sure the first 2 or 3 rolls will go for $350, then 5 or 6 for $150, then within 3-4 days they will be $70 like the dimes. My math says $15 times 40 = $600.

You just dont know how mad I was when that guy posted them for $15 a piece. The idiot even knew they were selling for more even with his BINs. Dont get me wrong $15 for a nickel is GREAT but damn, why sell somthing way under market price. It just doesnt make any sense to me.

I mean it gets old making daily trips but even making $50 a day on a couple of nickels is easy money. I think people dont realize that when you sell rolls yourew creating competition for yourself. There is one dude selling 10 of them for $75. I suggest someone buy them cause that is an easy $75 profit if theyre sold for $15.

I should get my M16 and shoot down a couple of these Bozos.

You knew from the beginning that this ride could end at any time, and now you are thinking about violence against people who are dropping your profit margin on brand new -=nickels=- that your father bought at face value to only $14.95 EACH? I think you need to shake it off and remember that you made a GREAT profit on these, and continue to do so at current prices, with pretty much a TON of luck and little effort on your part. When they drop to $20 per ROLL, you will still be multiplying your money by a factor of 10, which would make any major corporation blush with pride! Just because you were the first, you shouldn't feel like these others are in YOUR market - You didn't build the market, you were just the first, luckiest person to take advantage of pent-up demand.

It makes me sad that BEFORE you fell into this free money, you seemed like a happy person. Now, with all that extra cash, you are terribly bummed out that others that lucked into a supply of these coins want a piece of the action.

Best of luck in the future, and remember to treat yourself to something nice to always remember your good fortune!

Dude cool off. I would never resort to violence over money. My pride and what i do for a living are worth much more but I just simply dont understand the way people do business on Ebay. Im not mad others are making money from them but I guess the advice i gave them which by the way is the same advice i received from many on this board is simply ignored.

Believe me I am a happy person before this happened. 2 daughters and a beautiful wife is more than enough for me.

And the job i do taking care of people in the military, I would never trade it in for anything.

Ist not the fact that other people are selling them, why should i be mad its meant to happen but what gets me mad is the way people react when you try to give them advice on something. I even contacted several of the sellers and explained to them the importance of doing open auctions as opposed to BINs so they could make more money from them. Unfortunately one person did not take the advice and those people who are selling will see their profit potential be greatly decreased.

That is life and Im quite allright with it. My ride is still going strong and Ill enjoy every bit of it.

Please, just please DO NOT point fingers at me saying that I am resorting to violence over money.

Rugrats: I never took rodzm post as anything but tongue in cheek. If anyone took rodzm remark seriously, perhaps they need to give their head a shake.

I have to say that is hard to tell somebody's mood over the internet, but I just read the last couple of posts, and I knew that the gun references were not serious.

Seriously I am far from taking anything that serious. Hell i absolutely hate to do my yearly qualifications with my M16. I'm sorry if i came off rather ignorant on some things but the rifle reference was just perhaps not the right thing to say.

Look Im just enjoying the ride. I got to give my dad his very first gold coin and some much needed cash for him to pay off bills plus an awesome story for my kids when they get older.

You don't need to apologize to anyone.
You made a reference to a weapon, that was not serious, which all of us should have been able to pick up on
