Beautiful coin. I own that same one as MS-64 (see collection link below), but don't like mine as much as the one you bought. Mine doesn't have the same toning and appeal. I considered bidding on the 63, but ultimately decided to buy something else as I already owned it. Congrats on the coin; goes to show that grade isn't always everything :)

Edit: not sure why it's not showing my signature. Anyway, link is here: https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/CoinCustomSetGallery.aspx?s=24977.

Thank you. Yes, I remember seeing your coin as well. Excellent eye appeal and a nice strike.

The toning and eye appeal are what really hooked me on this coin. My Hungarian type set starts at 1848; anything earlier I buy at my discretion if I enjoy the coin, but they are not in a particular set. So you see this coin was a bit outside of what I typically collect, but a good friend of mine who is an advanced Hungarian/Transylvanian taler variety collector gave me some advice on the piece, and I liked the eye appeal very much. In my experience, I have rarely if ever regretted overbidding to acquire something special, but I have definitely regretted not doing that.

Haven't been around for awhile, had an accident, the first week of December, and layed up.
Home now in P.T. wanting to get back to work and some sort of normalcy.

This little gem I love to have graded as its much better in hand, but the best image I can shoot at present.
1936 half cent woodie! That there are none graded or on Numista! A nice uncirculated example that would be top pop in any grade. I love to send it in to see what grade it would receive.... nice eye appeal.
It definitely stands out with the wood grain...and is very clean strike and fields.

Repunched date the 37 needs a acetone bath before the green vergis eats it up.
I find that the late 1920's thru the later 1930's you'll find a lot of wood effects on coppers. For some reason majority of woodies fall in that time peroid.

Repunched date? I don't see it. Maybe a hint of a recut 1 but not what I'd call a repunched date:

I see a 1/1 RPD here. Looks similar that on the 1831 bust quarter RPD. Large 1 on top of a small 1.
