I didn't find anything special today, just a 1973 quarter. tomorrow I'm hitting up some old barns, so I'll see how I do. What have you guys found? (yes, it does look this bad)
Nice, I'll search for some pictures to post of some of my finds. How long have you been detecting? Frank
Heres all the stuff I found thats not junk. I did find a 1973 Mexico 5 centavos. Been out 4 times so far. Discovery 2200.
Oh a long time, actually I started yesterday haha. But I think I'm in a great area for it, so hopefully I'll find more. BTW, nice finds noost and viper

I know nothing about metal detectors, but you guys are piquing my interest. I live in an old farmhouse built in the 1870s; I'm thinking it might be fun to look around! Which models do you use or recommend? Which features are most useful? And do, please, post more pics! DB
Here is the $3 I found today. More than I have found in all my other hunts combined. Took about 4 hrs.
Wow not bad at all Noost. All I found was a penny today I went to a farmhouse built in the 1870s and guess what? They decided to bulldoze the property today. The whole place is a complete waste. I really wanted to detect around the outhouse Doverboy, I bought mine at walmart a few years ago for around 70$, and it works just fine for me!
metal detectors if you really want to get a good get a whites MXT "I went to a farmhouse built in the 1870s and guess what? They decided to bulldoze the property today. The whole place is a complete waste. I really wanted to detect around the outhouse " Thats actually good becasue it will turn up the ground and the older stuff that was deeper will now be up on top http://forums.kinzlicoils.com/index/ a good place to learn about metal detecting
After five minutes of the whole area beeping "coins" and finding them to be piping, I got really discouraged and left. Plus cars were driving by slowly to see what I was doing, so I got uncomfortable. I need a secluded place :goof:
Metal detecting is not illegal, just make sure you get permission first. Also, you can discriminate out certain things on most detectors. On mine, i automaticly cancel out iron. If I get more false signals, I cancel those out as well or just ingnore signals that don't repeat the same. You may find less, but it should be less irritating. It does take time to get used to your detector.
Some finds over the years. These are some of the gold & silver finds over the years. Sorry about the background, but I was in a hurry and (as usual) didn't think.
Haha I have one of those gold jesus heads in your second pic treashunt wow really nice coin finds ben, where do you usually detect?
Anyone see this show on the Science Channel that's been airing? Meteorite Men: http://www.meteoritemen.com/ They built truck sized detectors and scan fields for space rocks. BTW, this has nothing to do with The Meteor Man: www.imdb.com/title/tt0107563/
