http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/subscriptions-for-2009-lincoln-cent.html Just signed up for mine. 5 set limit still but don't have to put up with the slow server when they go on sale.:hail:
I did away with all my subscriptions. None of the coins on the subscription program have limited mintages, therefore, why pay the individual shipping costs for each item when you can just combine items at the end of the year. I have saved quite a bit a money doing this. Of course, there is definitely an up side to being on the subscription program which is that you are essentially guaranteed that you will get your coin and the hassle of ordering is taken out of your hands.....and I am not knocking that.
Yes but for things like the cent roll sets you probably can't wait til the end of the year and bundle to save shipping because they will no longer be available. And with many things the mint sells no one is really interested in buying them to collect, they are looking for the fast flip for silly money on eBay. The best profits come to the first flippers so if you wait till the end of the year you lose out on that lucrative potential. Of course I guess if you actually want to collect them waiting would make sense.
I like the subscriptions. I know I am going to get the items fast (latest proof set I received less than a week after they went on sale). No waiting on the website. I know I want these items and the shipping is very reasonable. I am going to be out of the country when the 3rd Lincoln roll set comes out so now it will just be automatically sent when it comes out. Nice and convenient.
