The set-up is temporary: I'm looking for a permanent display-solution. So, air-tight it is. That narrows down the field considerably.

Sounds lovely! Unfortunately, in the district where I live (Hedmark) antique cabinets are difficult to come by, so, unless I'm willing to settle for 'bondemøbler', (which for coins is probably worse than acrylic), that's out. Something will come up, I put my trust in serendipity.

(On an unrelated note, it's also far too cold where I live! Last night it was -35 C. and the water pipes in the basement have frozen over:().

Looking forward to see what you come up with! I'm sure it'll turn out nice.

I got my original acrylic holder from a Roma Numismatics win of the 2 Palms NewStyle. I bought the rest of the acrylic directly from Roma and they fit into a quadrum case nicely. They take all the different flan sizes of my NewStyles-the largest of which-at the moment-is 36mm. NewStyles also can be very thick and couldn't be accomodated in a Quadrum case and some are not totally flat too! Hence acrylics. I am less bothered than others here about environmental issues since I live within 100m of the A45 to Birmingham.

Oh, the inland in winter.... Brrrrrr. We have -10 now, and that’s just about cold enough. Does warm water freeze and turn into an «ice cloud» if you throw it up in the air?

The Eureka auctions of Skanfil sometimes have nice furniture, if you follow them? I agree that «bondemøbler» crashes with ancient coins.

Best of luck with the frozen pipes!
