Found anything good in your change lately? Any silver, 09 coins, heck you found any gold? LOL I have found 1 log cabin, and 3 formative years just today in change. What have y'all found lately
I was at the local town festival last night playing a quarter a bet gambling game. All the bets were in the middle of the table in a pile when I noticed one of the quarters stood out like a sore thumb.I didnt win the pot but the guy standing next to me did.I offered him 4 quarters for his one,he looked at me a little strange, but said ,sure. He was happy,I was happy! 1964D AU.
I got a Guam quarter and a bunch of formative years lately. Also get a Log Cabin once in a while.....all of the Log Cabins are P and all of the formative years are D. lol
Havn't found anything lately, but here at work I find silver every once in awhile. I work at a V.A. hospital and them old vets spend some of there old change for all sorts of stuff.
as a metal detectorist here in australia i often find american coins, mostly 1 cents of different ages, also i've found quarters, dimes, 5 cent coins. one dime has the head of "mercury" at least i think it is, dated 1942. some of the 1 cent coins have what looks like "ears of wheat" on the reverse and one has what looks like the head of an "indian" on it dated 1907. from reading what you put on these threads i can now understand them a little easier. what i need to do is to get info on which are more scarce than others although most of the coins are not exactly uncirculated. mike.:thumb:
beachcombermike: Yep, you have found some nice coins. Any dime or quarter older than 1965 is silver. The Mercury head dime is a nice find. Post the dates and mint marks and we can help you out regarding any key dates... bob
Found a 1910 s wheat cent. Very worn, have some of the lines in the wheat stalks, Lincoln is almost flat, to think it's been out there for that long.
Well this morning after a trip to the shop I discoverd a 2005D Roosie and a 2003 cent. Nothing special I hear you say and except for the fact I live in the UK LOL
In change two days ago I found a 1955 wheat cent. I don't collect them seriously, but generally do keep what I find in change. It seems that they are all from the same store as well... :smile
Couple of days ago I got a 1945 Lincoln cent and a 1980 Canadian cent together. Nothing spectacular, but still interesting.
I found these in the changers at work today I don't know if the Australian coins are good to keep though? First has 10 on reverse other has 5. Is it okay to post large pictures like these on posts?
Silver quarters are nearly impossible to find, I have only found one myself. Recently, new pennies and an MS 1939 Nickel.
