Hello everyone ! Hoping all is well. I' m doing sort of an experiment/experience kind of post . I am ordering ordering coins from APMEX the slowest way possible , Mailed check under $100 . I want to see how long it it takes and how my experience has been along the way . what's your guess on how long it will take ? Thanks in advance .
In this weather? With the snow slowing things down on the East Coast.. Forever. You should of waited to try your experiment when things are back to normal.
Is there a normal my wise young man ? Just look at the world we are in , lol . Nah its the perfect storm !
I must still be in bed dreaming. I thought Sal wrote something about spending $100 so he could track the shipment time.
I ordered from them for less than $200 by check back in the before times for a roll of Franklin Halves, it took less than 3 weeks total. Not exactly Speedy.
People buy copper. Scrap yards buy copper. But, if you have a bunch of old copper wire just try to sell it without a permit. They think it was stolen. The electrician I sometimes use has a hard time selling old wire.
I've never had a problem selling our scrap, it functions a lot like a pawn shop though where you gotta give and ID and payment has to be made out to you directly by check so it can be tracked if it's stolen, ect. or if someone working for a company is scrapping something they were authorized to. Just was wondering if you could walk into a coin shop or the we buy silver/gold places and they buy copper rounds or not because I've never seen it, well besides wheat cents. Below is 3x95mm cable, if I need a paperweight I just cut an inch or so off that.
I think the problem was that I had a bunch of scrap wire from home improvement jobs on my place and some of the kids houses. I tried to give it to the electrician. It seems that he would not have traceability to one of his jobs.
Copper isn't too bad. I enjoy copper rounds with nice designs, but don't go out of my way typically. Anyways, whats the difference if I buy a worn slick cartwheel 2 pence over a copper round of approx the same weight?
