Show some coins you find funny and/or strange! I found this 1988 2 Dollar from Cook Islands in a lot yesterday. The coin is made from cupronickel, is 24 mm from top to bottom, minted from 1987 to 1994, did circulate and is, as you can see triangular. Nothing valuable, but a funny, strange and cool coin
Nice coins. The triskele you show, Ripley, is a very ancient figure, featured on the Syracusian coinage 2500 years or so ago : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion Q
you mean a falling shield coin Lots of shields on coins...like this one... lady leaning on a UFO? But lets not get into THAT again... here are a few oddballs naked guy digging

What about this naughty Cuban peso from the "Pirates of the Caribbean"-series. It depicts Anne Bonny. bart
You might want to delete that pic, because I have already gotten in trouble about the same thing. Just a hint to save yourself... Don't say I didn't warn ya. And Dutchman, I don't know what to say about yours.
It was up for 12 hours. I figured it best I get on to him before a moderator does and infractions given out, since their was recently a hardy discussion on this subject.
Umm, try a web search for Anne Bonny, or Mary Read, plus some appropriate term(s) to narrow the search down. You'll get quite a few results. And of course, since these are coins*, they will even be depicted in plain old regular coin catalogs. * In my opinion, however, the coins from that Carribbean Pirates series are quite poorly done. Look like pieces with comic book type stickers. Christian
I agree...I am a big fan of the ladies and their assets but they are cheap looking...they look like stickers from an old comic book.
