I recently purchased this 1900 Morgan Silver dollar because I liked the rev tone. I couldn't capture the vibrant shade of blue with the camera very well tho.. Will a few of you give me an idea of it's value? When does a coin's tone increase or detract from it's value? Thanks for your help

It looks AU, maybe MS, beautiful toning. I've never seen any kind of toning detract from value.

Thank you Treasurer hunter. I gave $22.50 for the coin. I hope that wasn't to bad. I feel that I have a LOT to learn about coins.

sounds like a reasonable price, especially for that toning :thumb:

Heck yeah ! How ya gonna go wrong ? Pretty tone, looks natural. Greysheet on that coin is $19 bid in AU. :thumb:

Get a greysheet, learn to grade, and hang around !

DECREASE : unsightly, overly dark, or artificial
    INCREASE : all others

Most people consider natural, attractive toning a big plus. More importantly, look for natural luster. Morgans show cartwheel (unless proof or proof-like).

TY 900fine. I appreciate the information. Excuse a possible "stupid" question, but what exactly do you mean by "cartwheel"? Thanks
