Too many worn Walkers to select just a few... I love this coin. Even when beat up, they still look good.
Really nice coins, you guys! My first ones were uncircs from the 40's, then I drifted into circulated ones from the first 10 years-- they're all fun to hold and look at.
This is the closest example I have to this on hand in an 1934, Fine. *Sorry about the soft focus on the close-up.*
Some nice ones you have there, Kanga- I think yours is the first '38-d posted, and that is one fine example! Another thing I like about this series is that even when well-worn, like the 1916, the date is still easy to read and the design still holds a lot of character. Krispy, your half is especially attractive with the circulated cameo toning, I believe. Look at all the details in the stars on the flag and the flowers, surrounding Liberty's head! That would make a terrific micro-photo!
I just imaged this one for the first time today, the mark in the right obv. field is not as obtrusive as in the photo, but I still like this one:
A little high point wear on this one, but with some of the threads I've seen recently I wouldn't be surprised if it eeked out a 64 or 65 at PCGS...
@ksparrow: Thank you. I love the colour of circulated silver coins, the walking halves and standing liberty-s are some of the finest designs that hold up through this type of toning in my opinion. There wasn't much natural light this morning when I took this one but I did manage to tripod mount and silo the coin for a better presentation. I'm also saving up for a Leica D-Lux 4 which should increase the image quality and resoution detail of my macro shots, without spending too much on camera equipment. Thanks again for your comments.
I agree completely- just a fantastic coin design. I take my photos with a used Micro-Nikkor on my wife's D40 set on manual, with a copy stand. Sometimes it's hard to get the focus just right, but mostly does the job!
yesterday I rearranged my photobucket albums, so the links to my photos were lost. I'll post a few of them in no particular order: 1916-d, obv. mintmark: 3 s-mintmarks, '19,'21, and '18: OOPS! first one was 19-d, mislabeled!
