Oh I'm not selling newbies short at all...
I'm still a newbie, but I'd like to think I know more than most newbies, and a lot of that comes, from just being here

    Desiderata for error collectors

For Lovers of not so old coins, bad fakes and errors~

(You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
    Deteriorata, Deteriorata)

Go placidly amidst the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof. Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep. Rotate your tires. Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself; and heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys. Know what to kiss - and when. Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three do. Wherever possible, put people on hold. Be comforted, that in the face of all irridity and disillusionment, and despite the changing fortunes of time, there is always a big future in computer maintenance.

(You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
Whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.)

Remember the Pueblo. Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle, and mutilate. Know yourself. If you need help, call the FBI. Exercise caution in your daily affairs, especially with those persons closest to you... That lemon on your left, for instance. Be assured that a walk through the seas of most souls would scarcely get your feet wet. Fall not in love, therefore, it will stick to your face. Gracefully surrender the things of youth: the birds, clean air, tuna, Taiwan - and let not the sands of time get in your lunch. Hire people with hooks. For a good time, call 606-4311, ask for Ken. Take heart in the deepening gloom that your dog is finally getting enough cheese. And reflect that whatever misfortune may be your lot, it could only be worse in Milwaukee.

(You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
Whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.)

Therefore, make peace with your god, whatever you perceive him to be: hairy thunderer or cosmic muffin. With all its hopes, dreams, promises, and urban renewal, the world continues to deteriorate. GIVE UP!

(You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
Whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.)

You have pointed out why parents should monitor & reduce how much soda their kids drink. :D

    Excuse Me?
    What exactly are you inquiring???
I never said I knew it all, and just because I post a lot, doesn't mean that I am an extremist, what I meant by my statement, was some BRAND NEW to collecting, will automatically think they are know it alls, and there is nothing to the hobby.
Now you tell me, how my posts and threads here, have anything to do with my being a coin collector, and learning here?

That is funny, but I can't drink too many sodas with my Ulcerative Colitis
I'm online all day, and therefore have more time to post, than other members here, I've been online all day long, since I was able to get back on cointalk, which was about a month or so ago

My posting a lot has nothing to do with my knowledge, I post here because I have friends here and I like to talk about coins.
What is everyones' problem on my posting?

    I know -- we all know . . .
And, as far as I know, nobody has a problem.

But you have to let us tease you about it every once in a while! ;)

WOW! Now your first comment was funny, and that totally came out wrong...
Here is the thing, I'm not as knowledgeable as many collectors here, but I'm knowledgeable for how long I've been collecting, and that is a fact.
I have no problem if you would like to tease me every once in a while, but I cannot tell the tones of your posts, with what Missie had said to me, felt like a personal attack, at me.
I hope nobody thinks I'm here just because I want to post! I read, learn, and teach here, and I enjoy it, because I enjoy this hobby, and I hate it that people think it is funny, or will benefit them more, if they can just pick on me having a lot of posts...
I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW MANY POSTS I HAVE TODAY, OR TOTAL FOR THAT MATTER! I have not been keeping track today, and rarely do keep track each day, it is not on my list of things to do

Thanks . . . sometimes "wry" doesn't come out well in a forum
Yeah -- an occasional hazzard of e-communication.
Nope -- it just seemed funny to me -- to have the most prolific poster say "slow down" -- even if the "slow down" was a completely different context.

Don't worry, T$, we luv ya' here.

And _all_ prolific posters eventually get teased for something or other.

Well if we could tell tones over the internet, I would have thought what missie said was hilarious! But I cannot tell tones, of anybody's posts, as that is a hard thing to do

One of the keys to a more pleasant life, imho, is to assume a positive intent, for everybody's actions (where feasible, and where it doesn't conflict with protecting oneself, but this certainly applies to others' words, generally speaking).

I'm very defensive, always need to defend myself, don't ever want to be taken advantage of ever, and don't want to be part of a joke, that I don't think is funny :)

tmoney - I will first say something positive. I really do like your enthusiasm and dedication to the hobby. For a young person, that is precious!

Now, I'm going to say something bluntly, but not to make fun of you.

    YOU POST TOO MUCH. :hammer:

My hope would be that you slow down, think, and decide whether you have something to offer in a particular thread. If you really don't, then try and restrain yourself. Averaging 36+ posts per day is ridiculous and it requires the rest of us to wade through yours before seeing what another poster has to say on a topic.

So, please take the above as constructive criticism because that's how it's meant. I think it's great you're here, enjoying the hobby, and I'd like to see you contribute in a meaningful way.

It is not like I'm posting JUNK all day long
I post meaningful things, IMO, they might just be little things that might add a few more posts to a certain thread, and maybe just a little flare, I post whatever numismatic knowledge I can as well, and try to teach whenever I can, and share my opinions.
I'd feel bad, if all my posts were "yeah" "uh huh" "okay" "sweet" "nice coin"
But they are not like that, and my posts have substance (Excluding the ones in GUESS THE NEXT POSTER)

On another forum, me and the moderator, constantly work on getting rid of one word posts, by the same people every time, because they are annoying and cause too much space to be taken up, and if this is how you see my posts, as useless posts, than I am sorry you feel that way.
I will try and slow down, but please know that me slowing down, I will still have 20-30+ posts each day, fairly easily, I am here all day long, and I feel I always have something to contribute
