This should be a pretty good show, for a first show. It'll be held starting this Thursday through Saturday (June 18-20). Here's a link to their website: http://www.ckshows.com/ I am hearing a lot of positive chit chat from many coin people who plan to attend, and I know several SoCal dealers have signed up to participate too. Even AJ will have a table! If you go, be sure to stop by his and my tables and say hi! Here's a link on the CU forum about the show as well. http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=723871&STARTPAGE=1
By the way, the show promoters are doing a heck of a job advertising this show. There is a big huge banner along the freeway, and they have placed ads in local papers as well as all the coin magazines. These are the same people who put on the Bakersfield show in September and February. There will be another Ontario show in December as well. Hope we see some of you CoinTalkers there!
I'm curious how things turn out. Looking forward to a show report. Unfortunately I can't make that weekend, wish it was in July.
I'm sure AJ and I will post a follow up on this show. However, if you need a good SoCal show in July (this probably should be posted in a new thread), there's a great proven show in San Diego in July, probably 40+ or so dealers, right off the 8 freeway. I've participated in this show for several years and it's always been very active. Here's more details: July 18-19 - Coinarama at the Scottish Rite Memorial Center, 1895 Camino del Rio South, San Diego - here's a map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?city=san%20diego&state=CA&address=1895%20camino%20del%20rio%20south&zip=92108&country=us&zoom=7
Right on Charmy These folks have gone all out to make this a success.....And BTW, I did verbally commit to the Bakersfield and the Dec Ontario:smile I am now frantically trying to decide how to add over 100 new Morgan slabbers to my 4 case display. Consolidation is in order:kewl:
Unfortunately I won't be able to go. My expendable capital is at all all time low... :-\ However, I should be able to come to the Tucson Show, since that's only about 100 miles away, and I can stay at some friend's places who go to U of A.
That's only for the Early Bird badge - if you want to get in at the same time the dealers get in, before the general public.
I'm still patiently waiting for you two to set up at some shows in Vegas. It's a lot closer. An hour versus 7 hours. Not to mention, Vegas is a bit more entertaining. Maybe CT needs a calendar with show schedules and a place where people can post their name if they'll be attending or setting up a table there. Guy~
I absolutely love doing shows in Vegas (don't mind playing a little poker while I'm at it!), except I don't do Israel Bick shows. Tell us of any you know of, and I will check my calendar.
Same here. Love Vegas but won't do Bick shows. If I can squeeze in a Vegas show, I am sure my wife will finally decide she likes coin shows
I think John Gould 9 (spelling ?) run a twice annual show there. He and I talked about it at the last Mesa Coin club show....he is on the NSDR and has been around so long my uncle Skip and him are old buds.
Not sure on sponsors, but it seems most shows are at the Plaza, Sams Town, and a lot at Circus Circus. My friend runs a shop in Vegas so I'll have to ask him next week for a better schedule and compare notes here. Guy~
