hi all i have come across a 1979-d lincoln cent, and the 7 is reversed, now i have been researching this error for some time now and have found nothing about it and cant seem to find any other coin with this perticular error so what im wondering is if anyone else has seen or know of a site i can go to about it or any info be great...please let me know ty much!
First off we are going to need pictures. If you need help with pictures just ask as there are several here who can help. That said if it is a guiene error it could be worth some serious money so we need a picture!!!!! Ice
Thanks for the photo but it is essentially useless because the coin is microscopic. All I can tell is it is a Lincoln Cent. Can you take a photo where we can see some details of the date?
yeah sry it so small but if you click the pic 3 times it inlarges it to where you can see it..i think lol sry not to good at adding pics if that dont work let me know ill try to add another one
coin-man270, Welcome to Coin Talk! I was able to copy and paste the pic to my' PC, enlarge it and somewhat see what you are talking about. However, due to the mangled state of the coin, I am almost certain that the "7" is not reversed but is in fact damaged to a point that it appears to be reversed or somewhat reversed. I have attached the edited pic and hope that it comes out large enough, so others can see enough detail on the coin to give their assessment! Frank
Absolutely! Hint: Crop all that useless white space out of your picture and that will automatically enlarge it to a useful size.
yeah its got some bad areas on it...im trying to get some clear pics of the cent for you guys...but the 7 is actually reversed...the only other date it could be otherwise is a 1919 but its not a wheat...
A closeup of the Date would shed more light on the topic but I still say that it is Post Mint damage! Frank
