Why go for only the pre-'81s? Why not also get the '81s (i.e., pre-'82s)? And while you're at it why not save the bronze '82s?

Haha okay I see the logic, I don't understand how much some ebayers must have to buy pennies worth face and pay more than face

I think if one has picked out all of the wheaties, SF mints, and knows that there are many D mints; he probably shouldn't be claiming they are non-searched

But hey, I guess at least he's honest.

Well the coins are worth $0.0154480

I have taking pre-1982 coins out of circulation for the last 2 years. I usually get $2-$3 dollars worth every week to sort through. I enjoy just looking through rolls plus I still find wheaties. I really don't know what I am going to due with the copper coins.

I'm hoping they'll triple in value. I've got hundreds of rolls that I've been saving for five decades. I could be a thousandaire.

I save them in a jar. It's probably not worth the effort, but I can't spend them with the idea that someday I'll trade a pile of them for a morgan dollar or something. I probably won't ever get around to it. But how can you spend a coin for face value knowing it's worth more than that? It's a sickness.

I had a bunch that I got out of roll searching. I was waiting for the price of copper to go up enough to sell them for a nice prifit. Never happened, and ended up putting them in my money market account. At least now I can get some interest.

Kk..just pulled a 62' and 67' out of my change if I am still getting those in every day change going to be a long time before they valuenle...but should I sell now or hold onto? Do you think the value of copper will drop when gold drops?

    The price of the copper.

I save pre '82s out of habit now. you just never know what the price of copper will do in the future. In the meantime it's not a huge investment laying around. Right now the cents in the jar are doing better than my mutual funds.

This is one reason why Copper Pennies are being hoarded by folks. Low-cost way to set aside some Bullion material. And if it tanks, it's still a penny that you can chuck into the local CoinStar Machine. Or something like that.

I do it just to be doing. Recently started going through my change. Have found several wheaties including a 1917 D and a 1940 Mercury dime. I am pulling out all the 1982 and prior just because I hate to go through all those coins and not save more than I am.

Hey, what do y'all do with all those unwanted cents. Think I am collecting them faster than I am spending.

I'm working to get my first ton of 95% pennies. About 1/3 of the way there.

    No R value

Too bad copper has such a low R insulating value. My stash could save on having to install fiberglass insulation in my attic.

    Not Me

I put mine in the Dinty Moore "Big Meals" containers! I like the Teflon-like construction, they come with tight fitting :Dvented lids and they stack well.

Oh, and the Chicken & Dumplings are tasty and clean out better than the tomato based meals.
