    I know, I know...

Its like hitting a small lottery. Hey now I can have an AC in my bedroom. In Germany there are no AC's in homes or apartments so my wife and the baby have been burning for a while. My wife is very happy needless to say. She wasnt too keen on the idea of me getting these nickels and dimes because we've been short on cash so this was a blessing in disguise for us.

We've been plagued since last year with bad luck when it comes to finances so this gives us a slight breather

Thanks everyone for the wishes. I spoke to my dad today and he told me that the dimes are already circulating there but he has not been able to see any nickels thus far. Im starting to wonder now if a good portion of the nickels and dimes have been sent to territories as opposed to keeping them stateside.

So far nobody has come up with D mint nickels or dimes so whoever finds those will be in for a nice ride. If the whole territory thing holds true then you should be able to see D mint coins coming out of Hawaii, Mariana Islands, and Guam since they are located on the West side of the U.S.

His Nickel is at $100 right now, with time to go!!!

    ONE HUNDRED FREAKIN DOLLARS!

    For a current year nickel.

    You go Manny.

On another note, I thought my dimes would sell for really low amounts now that there are a BUNCH of uncirc one out there and mine are circulated. Well, I sold two more today, both for a little more than 10 bucks. I'm down to 3 dimes, and 8 bucks away from a gross take of $400 (I'll make it). Now that isn't Manny territory, but I'm pretty happy about the whole run.

There was another auction yesterday for a nickel and that one sold for just over $102. The one that i posted 1st will finish today and is up to $100, someone bid it up to $125 but backed out of the bid saying "Entered wrong amount" Between a few dime rolls Ive sold and nickels my gross is over $1,500. I think the prices for dimes are levelling off right now and shoud sell in the $10 range which is not bad at all. Rolls are selling well within the ranges of $130-$150

Geez if rolls of dimes are selling for that much I wonder what a nickel roll would go for. 300,400, 500 dollars???? I find it hard to believe anyone would pay that much for a roll but with Ebay you never know.

JMO but I would only sell single nickel coins until someone else had rolls for sale.

Exactly! You don't want people to think that these are really out there, and that they can just wait
Once you put a roll up for sale..... You will lose bidders.

Oh believe me there will be nothing but singles out there until rolls start to surface. The dime bubble is still good but it will definitely burst in the next few weeks. Some of the rolls I sold, people are already posting singles for sale. There is still plenty of moeny to be made with singles but the bubble will pop very soon.

I refuse to sell rolls right now. Even at $50 per coin that is a potential gross profit of $2,000. Not many nickels to go around and if they are found I would think that the majority will be mixed in rolls. Life is good.

This whole thing is unbelievable to me. Why someone would spend what they are for coins that will be in circulation in a few (or maybe several) months is beyond me. Actually, I think it is a symptom of our "instant gratification" world. The infomation age has created a I-have-to-have-things-now mentality that has resulted in some nice profits for me and incredible ones for Manny. It is just NUTS.

Gluttony (Just has to have it now, no patience)

I think a lot of people have the fear of having to pay more in the future. Some may have the fear of not finding them in nice condition as opposed to a circulated coin. With the nickels and dimes Im selling its guaranteed that they have never been circulated before so that may play a part as to why people are willing to pay more.

I just got an email to my Ebay from Paul Gilkes, Senior Editor of Coin World and he requested some pics for a story they will be doing. My belief is that they will do it for this issue since they couldnt get it in the last one.

They called me, then transferred me to someone and it went to phone mail. I sent an e-mail back, but they never called me. Manny, ask them if they want the story from the seller of the first 2009 dime too......

Bob <--------wanting to be famous like Manny.

Man, looks like this thread just won't die! I never anticipated it would go this long.

There would be no point in melting them down now that they're made. There's very little metal content to obtain from them. It's got to be all in the production cost. If they have an excess of coins now, perhaps they just won't mint some issues in 2010? That would make more sense to me and they have done that in the past as well.

Well, when the bubble pops you can always resort to sticking a 2009 nickel or dime with the date face out at the ends of mixed rolls. I'm sure that'll be next if it isn't happening already.
