Usually I would but it seems that once you enter into another dealing with the mint you give them another chance to screw things up. These guys are not competent people.

Generally you are correct, but the level of incompetence the mint displays changes the equation. When you enter into another transaction with these people you are really not dealing with rational people.

it's got nothing to do with being holy.it's a matter of Integrity (consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles) ever hear of the golden rule?

I'd wait and see if all is well, they could still find some way to mess this up.

You are not familiar with the mint, they have literally stolen my money with impunity. I know that they did not do this maliciously (but through incompetence) get back to us after you have a little more experience with these incompetents.

I have to agree with some of you above that the mint is rtaher incompetent about some of these things. I may have opened a can of worms and I may end up getting charged more for them or having them screw with my credit card.

Hopefully it turns out ok, if it doesnt I can always fall on my credit card company to set it straight

The issue has nothing to do with having a "holier than thou" attitude. HONESTY and INTEGRITY are two traits that should be inherent in all people, but unfortunately they aren't. So, it's not a matter of "looking down one's nose" when a lack of integrity is observed; it's just a matter of expecting the correct actions from someone in the first place.

In my opinion, RODZM did the right thing and I commend his actions.

Rodzm, you did the right thing!
If you would have kept these sets, and just said yahooooo, there would be bad karma to follow

He tested you, and you did the right thing, very well done...

CamaroDMD: Why is speaking one's mind about what I believe is right "looking down one's nose" and "holier than thou?" You are free to have your opinions, but don't disparage others the same privilege and label them if they do speak out.

Manny: I'm proud of you for doing the right thing. You will be blessed for it. Integrity and honesty will always be a positive thing in the long run.

It seems like you're the one looking down at others!

But, more seriously -- there's a difference between: (a) trying to improve one's own holiness; and (b) trying to be holier than thou. I think most posts in this thread were about (a) rather than (b). The OP asked what he should do, and others gave answers. People weren't looking down at others.

A few more cents?! The market value is more like $100 to $150 for two LP1's.

You seem to want to do a lot of comparing. Perhaps that's why you though other people were looking down their noses? I dunno.

Nope -- not gonna flame. But then you should stop accusing others of trying to be holier than thou when they were just trying to do what they thought was right.

It has been said that knowing the "right" thing to do is often much easier than actually doing it. The world, however, is a better place when we can do the right thing. Even on the little things.
