My wish list right now >>>looking for a 1888 Guernsey 8 Double coin. I just recently ran across this coin on ebay looking for a 8-8-08 double prosperity set. Of coarse this was sold out at the mint..so where else to go? I would love to find one for my wife's anniversary...She has a thing with 8's...thought this would make a great good luck coin for her..I think it's perfect..hopefully cheaper than a Diamond...beleive me..it will do !! if I can keep it under wraps til anniversary day !!Just throwing it out there if you have any ideas of where I might get one? Could you clarify something for me. Are you looking for an old Guernsey 8 Double copper, dated 1888, or is this a more recent gold issue that I am in the dark about?
As far as I know there was no coinage in 1888, unless your looking for a fantasy piece or modern coinage.
Unless you can find a fantasy piece(which I doubt) you will not find anything from Guernsey with that date. But there is a 1/24 and 1/13 shilling from Jersey with that date, I believe. Is there something special that you would have to have Guernsey?
