I recently purchased a LP 1 Lincoln cent ANACS MS 67 on ebay. The price was less than $25 including shipping. I didn't realize ANACS jumped on the first day of issue bandwagon, but apparently they have.

Just looking at some of the NGC prices on ebay and other coin websites, a NGC Log cabin in MS 67 runs at least $150 and a PCGS even more. Why the huge difference? I know PCGS and NGC coins sometimes sell for more, but is 600% the norm?

Attached is and NGC coin for comparison. (middle pic)

Well the slab makes all the difference
NGC and PCGS will run for more dough
People will think that ANACS is just overgrading, and that NGC and PCGS are the best way to go
The way I look at it, if you can compare a MS67RD NGC and a MS67RD ANACS, and there is not a difference AT ALL, then you got a good deal
When it comes to resale, the PCGS and NGC will get you more...
If it were me, I'd rather have my coins in an NGC holder, because they have always been my preference of grading non gold coins.
    But I think modern issues really don't matter...a 67 is going to be a 67, and a 70 is going to be a 70 :)

    WOW
Thats a pretty interesting holder. Looks nothing like the new ANACS I have seen recently. Also, the slab # of #'s is something I have not seen. they must have known how many were eligible or something.

As for the grading, I have recently purchased a group of ANACS 66 and 67 reds......they are pretty strict, much more so than I would have thought, but reality is, the holder does carry a stigma. To realize full value, they must be crossed over.

Hate to admit it, but soooooo many folks buy the holder these days instead of the coin.:secret:

Sad but true. Most don't want to learn how to grade for themselves (which is the real "art" in this hobby IMHO)...or they don't have faith in their abilities to learn it.
