Thanks Dano! I didnt realize that about the 2002 on halves. I'll have to start putting those aside. Can't wait to turn around the 30 pound bag of change I have so far and get some more! Ha ha.

  4. Over the past few days I've gone through 3 boxes of pennies with a friend. We ended up finding 19 Wheaties (oldest 1934) and about 2300 coppers, and on top of that, a few keepers (BU) from the 60's and 70's. No WAMS yet :\

Still trying to scope out banks. One bank actually gave me a box of 2006-P pennies fresh from the mint. Kind of gross, but fortunately a teller at another bank let us exchange for a box of circulated coins.

Do you guys have any suggestions as far as demographic areas are concerned? Like should I go to a bank in a rural part of town or stick to the busier banks?

Just finished a bag of cents. Found 18 wheats (oldest 1937), a log cabin (P), a dime, and (get ready for this) AN 1898 IHC!!! My first IHC from roll searching. I was really excited. I would call it a VG. Not worth much, but how often do you find those?

why would you swap the box out? You know you can make at least $25 by selling it to someone on ebay? I would take any and all solid boxes of uncirc. coins.

a box of 2006 pennies would get $50 on ebay? Really?

You should have kept those. There's a real nice Doubled Die on the 2006-P' worth a couple of hundred dollars. 2006P-1DO-017 There's also a minor doubled ear for $125 in MS. I would have loved to have gone thru those.
    Just my opinion,

Right. Don't know the value of 2 eurocents. Must be worth more than one US cent?

3 rolls of pennies. I got one log cabin, in bad shape, and this.......I was excited.....it is my first blank planchet.......it is of the post 82 kind. I also found this Kennedy half, which I am going to post in the error coin forum with additional picks

    I had a pretty good $ 20 worth of nickels today.....today's catch:

    1936 (Buffalo !) :D
    1940
    1940 D
    1941 (2)
    1944 S
    1946 D
    1947 D

I have to say I was really pleased by the buffalo, it has a good 4 digit date. It has been since the early 70's since I found one like that.

well how things can change. My last box of halves a week ago was my best one ever. I get another today and got the big 0, not a thing worth keeping in it.

Bet you were all but knocked flat on your reverse in a manner of speaking when you found it. I know the feeling. It's like, "Huh?" You keep doing this, you'll find more, believe me when I tell you. :thumb:
