I do like the Type II rev. That is one nice high grade 5 Mark you have there.

Nice coin, and one of my favorite Prussian designs.

I have his father in gold as well as his son but have yet to fill his slot....I hope to get a good deal one day on a coin as nice as this.

1888 was known as the year of the three Kaisers (Wilhelm I, Friedrich III, Wilhelm II).

Very nice coin Zohar. I was actually shopping for one of these the other day, but didn't find one that hit my radar just right, I did find a nice 10 Mark that was tempting. Frits Bodde on VCoins (Moneta-Nova) has a cool set of the 2, 5, 10 & 20 Mark coins in an original set, but it's out of my price range right now.

    I want it! :eat:

The strange thing is, inspite of low mintage figures, this coins are relatively cheap.

If they's cheap, you always buy buy buy! ;)

That is what I do if the price is right. I do sell them if I find a more desireable piece.

I havent found this to be true but then again 'cheap' is relative :)

This is one design I can't resist

    I currently have about 6 of the 2 Marks (if I recall correctly;an NGC MS65, a PCGS MS66 {or is it 2?} 3 PCGS MS67s and a PCGS MS68), 3 of the 5 Marks (2 PCGS MS66 and 1 NGC MS66) and in Gold I have the 10 Mark (NGC MS66 and NGC Proof 64), 20 Mark (PCGS MS66). At one time I had 13 of the 2 Marks (MS65 and up) but I've been cutting back ;)
