Have a question do you think what happened with the v75's will also occur with the 2021 W silver eagles?
I thought they would hit the ground running with the new design? when i purchased the 2020 i did so thinking it would be the last we would see of the original design, it's the only reason i bought it since the Mints prices are getting to be way too much for my liking!
I had the ASE (W) in my enrollment, but I got an email that the Mint is expecting a rush on them since it will be the last ASE with the "old" reverse. Then, I got another email telling me that my enrollment for the Van Buren medal had been cancelled due to the expiration of the credit card. It wasn't due for renewal until October of 2021. I've had this credit card for over 20 years and it has never been cancelled or out of date. Anyone else have this problem. Then I had problems signing on... Geez, what else is the Mint going to do.
Jim Dale, I got the same emails and my card doesn't expire till 2023. Something strange going on. Now the ASE (W) shows sold out.
I had the same message. Turns out if you ever updated the CC they have on file because you got a new expiration date, it doesn't t automatically update the CC info in any annual product enrollments you have signed up for. I missed out on the 2020 mint set because of that (which is now currently unavailable). You have to update it in at least 2 places, maybe more, depending on how many products you automatically purchase every year.
I thought the ASE wouldn't be available until 2021. Its the Van Buran Medal that was in my Enrollments. I won't be able to get it until tomorrow as a regular purchase. Maybe they want to see how many people are interested in it and then they will raise the price for the third time. My problem seemed to be that I tried to sign in and got blocked out. I emailed the Mint and they fixed it and all of my enrollments had been turned off. Another thing about the ASE that I thought of is that they also might want to find out how many people will sign up to get it just before they double the price or even triple it in some cases. And another thing. I bought the Mayflower double gold coin set and when I signed up for it, it was selling for about 1.25K. When I got notice of purchasing the set, the price had gone up to $1,500. Right after I got it, I looked it up at the Mint and it had gone down to $1,475, I don't know who cooks their books, but if they were a government monopoly, they'd be run out of business. Their new Director is ripping coin collectors. The LImited Silver Set went from $125 to $201, just about overnight.
The US Mint changes the price for gold coins on a weekly basis. This can explain it better than I can: If you want more info, the above was from this site: https://mintnewsblog.com/how-the-us...es-for-gold-and-platinum-numismatic-products/
