I saw he came back...but he is clearly lying about all this stuff. Although...it is kinda fun.

 

I read through most of this post. I am naturally skeptical and never believe this stuff. I think we are way too gulliable. Is that how you spell that? Some kid at a computer having fun at our expense. No one makes a post in that kind of tone when their grandmother dies. It it heartless at best. It made some good entertainment here.

I'd post a smart edited remark, but anyone having to post a fake "find" fake "inheritance" etc. to get an "attaboy" on the internet probably has enough problems of their own.

Now, gang, this very possibly could have happened.....the selling of a roll of 16D dimes that is. I have a friend, who is a member on here also, that sold two rolls of 16D Mercs in his lifetime. He said the first roll he sold many, many, many years ago and made some good money on it, but not nearly what he made on he second roll. He told me that this is one of the reasons that he was able to retire earlier than expected. Now those of you that know me, also know that I am a fairly no nonsense guy. I wouldn't pull your legs...not knowingly anyway. But he has collected his whole life and I have seen much of this guys collection and I have no reason to doubt his story. I guess he could be pulling my leg, but I have know him for several years and I can't say that I would see this guy making up a story like this.

On the flip side of things, even though he made terrific money, I don't think it was the kind of money that he went out and bought ten houses and cars and stuff like that. Now I do know that these were 16Ds that he collected that were circulated which of course makes all the difference in the world. I can't remember if the OP ever said if these were UNCs or circs?

Anyway, all I am saying is that it could very well have happened. Just funny to see Pupa back after all this time.

 

This could have happened...but based on the way the Op wrote his posts, I get the feeling it didn't. If I'm wrong then I owe him an apology.

I think some people just like to flame forums. They get a kick out of it. What surprises me is the OP had quite a few posts before this one. I wonder if he got mad at someone or just got bored.

 

Oh, Im thinking the same things as you are. But the first thing that came to mind this morning when I read this, is that if someone is playing a joke that is some darn good determination to wait all this time in between posts. Don't you thnk. We all thought he ran off into the sunset with Dak and then BAM! He's back at it. Probably last post we will see until 6 months later when he is posting pics of him standing on his yacht which is docked outside his 10000 sq/ft home off the coast of Miami or something.

Personally, I hope this really did happen. Always good to see an awesome story like that.

That is true. But, what if a member got bored and decided that he just wanted to mess with people before he left. Then, did so (such as starting a post like this) and then left. Down the road, for some reason they remember the site and decide to just pop back in for a minute to start it up again. If this was true why would there have been a big time gap. If the OP was buying land and traveling the world with all his money...wouldn't he have the internet along at least part of the journey?
