    Does anyone know why there is an extra hairline on Lincoln's head here?

    Are you talking about that scratch on his head? If so it's just post mint damage

    it's not a scratch.. the picture is bad. There is actual more hair minted on his head. I will try to post a better picture and you can see it clearly is additional copper shaped like hair.

    All of your pictures are just so small. Its hard to atribute with a picture that is as small as the coin.

    Those pix are too small to make anything out. It just looks like a scratch to me.

    So I take it this is unfamiliar to anyone? I will get a bigger picture soon and post it. I just wanted to see if anyone has seen anything like it for now.. I just joined here and have been collecting error pennies the last year and have alot I am curious about...

    It's a die crack i zoomed in 400 times the size.A cracked skull very common in the fifty coins

    Thanks for the link to that web site dude. I have been home recovering from a disability and for the last year , once and sometimes twice a week I purchased ten dollars worth of pennies and sat home and searched them. I have hundreds of errors and I will post some interesting ones I have found.

    I also have a 1941 penny that has the letter T embeded in the side of lincoln's cheek. at least it looks like the letter T.

    If you have a coin like that it is called a dropped letter error, and can be worth a nice premium please post a pic of it to be sure it;s a T and a dropped letter.

    1941 Possible dropped T

    Here is a picture.. sorry it isn't real clear.. I'll buy a better camera soon.
    The T is sticking out of his Jaw Line.
