Hi all! Well, I was at the long beach show for about 4 hours yesterday. I had never seen so many coins in my life!!! It was pretty neat, and a bit overwhelming. I'm sure the security was great, but I would honestly be nervous as a dealer having hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars worth of coins in a giant crowded building. This was my first real coin show, and a great experience.

Anyways, after hours of browsing, I finally settled on 3 purchases, all very good deals in my opinion.

The first is a beautiful burnt orange 1912 quarter eagle indian. It was PCGS certified, but now broken out as an upgrade in my type set. The color of this one really made it stand out, and I LOVE IT!! Care to guess the grade?

I also purchase a nice type 2 gold dollar, which was the FINAL one needed to complete my gold type set. It is a tad weakly struck, and definitely not the best, but it is FAR AND AWAY the best quality for the price. Nothing else I saw came close. It is still in the NGC slab, where it will stay as a velcroed addition to my 7070.

The second one looks like it has a little wear, and not a whole lot of luster, another stab in the dark, AU53 :)

Last but least, a problem free PCGS certified trade dollar, that has been broken out and added to my type set. It has a lot of luster that the photos didn't pick up, and really strong details. A few hits in the obverse fields and devices, but once again, great price for the quality in comparison to others I saw.

Some very nice type coins, I think the trade dollar is around AU50-53, a type II/II, you may want to take a close look at the chin and foot for doubling, the DDO is quite scarce.

It's so hard to tell from a picture, since the key is luster break on the Indian's cheek. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume mint state.

This one has a chance at MS62. If the grader felt there was some cheek rub, this one had AU58 for sure.

Nice coin, and yes it has wonderful color ! Nice choice. :D

Good call! This was the first one guessed correct. NGC AU-50. I was happy with the price for this type 2 gold dollar at $395.00. :) All of the other guesses for the other coins were off, so keep on guessing! And thanks for the comments.

Your Trade Dollar is better than mine and Mine's an AU-55.
    Yours could be a -63

I'm terrible at grading the incuse indians, but I don't see how mine is any better than yours gradewise. I really just purchased it for the color, not really details...I guess that was a bonus. :)

Yeah, well there really isn't much wear at all that I can see on this coin. There are some hits/dings, and significant luster breaks which probably account for the grade. I agree though, good coins for the grade and price. I really enjoyed the coin show. It was a nice break from the routine of buying and selling on ebay.:)
