And those people would not really be involved in numismatics, now, would they :kewl:
So, as long as everybody stays quiet, we can quietly search, and make a bigbang when we sell

I hope some of you can find some and get in on this boom before it subsides. I've got 3 on Ebay right now, two of them closing tomorrow. The bids are not nearly what they were on the first, but by the time they close, it will still be substantial. Good luck everyone...

And thats a 15,000% profit huh.

Or is my math wrong on that.

So far my nickel is a 60,000% profit...simply insane

Just got this message from the buyer of the first coin at $49, the one with a zero rating:
Hi I Adjust Bought This Item Off Of You Yesterday So Whats The Deal You Are Not Going To Get The Coin To Me Let Me Know What Its Going On Thanks Scott Whited 2010....

Sounds like he is just messing with me. Of course, I was very polite and explained he needed to pay first, but I'm wondering if this is just a joke....
    :(

Sounds like he wont pay, there is always a second chance offer for the second highest bidder

    2nd highest already paid. :)

It would be nice if this guy did, but if not, how do it get it off of my ebay fees? Anyone have to do that with a non payer before?

Just file a non payer strike, you will get your fees back

I'll wait a few days to see. Then I'll file that. Don't know how, but I'm sure if I looked for it on ebay I'll find it...

What would you guys think if I were to get lucky and have the very 1st graded 09 P nickel???? It has crossed my mind to have one graded just to have a chnace at being the first one but at the same time grading fees on a fast turnaround could cost almost $100. Is it really worth the hassle????

by the time you get it back, there may be hundreds of them raw in circulation. Most moderns aren't slabbed except when they are close to MS-70, because there isn't enough of a premium to cover the slabbing fees and postage and insurance.

So I say it isn't worth it. Think about this... what if you're the 2nd slab? Kinda screws the pooch on it.

    Hi rodzm,

I was looking at the PCGS population reports and Mike is right, not that many business strikes are graded. Considerably more of the Satin Finish from the Mint sets are, though. I suppose if you find a really nice specimen, it might be worth doing.

Unless it is a 68 or higher, don't do it
I doubt that you have a MS68 FS nickel though, or any grade higher
Keep it raw, and sell it raw, be the first, to actually sell one

Well, I may have solved the mystery of the first slabbed 2009 dime. One of the buyers of one of my dimes sent this note to me:

Thanks, I will be submitting to PCGS for authentication. Regards

Wonder if he thought it was a fake?

That's the tone of his note, IMO.

Well, I'm not concerned. They are real.

Yeah, because if it were just to get it graded, it would be
"I can't wait to get the coin graded from PCGS!"

That would be my tone, if I was getting it graded...
Big difference between saying graded, and authenticated..

yeah, the authenticated crack is a swipe at you. But seriously think about it... This guy paid almost $50 for a current year clad dime. He can't exactly be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

This was another one I sold today for $31. But yeah, he is questioning whether it is real.....his money to have it authenticated...

Hey all...after waking up today i found the bids have gone up to $51 with more than 8 days left. This is just crazy.

34 watchers, 11 bids and 451 views. This is by far the most watched auction Ive had in all my time on Ebay, and Ive sold some pretty rare vintage toys on Ebay before. Unbelievable...to Bob that first dime was one for the Ebay record book. Congrats!!! And if you have a couple of more, keep cashing them in.

Ill probably post a couple myself once i receive them.
