This coin seems to have some corrosion holes, or what? I'm thinking it had been cleaned way back and just retoned naturally. Or maybe it was a burried coin that was cleaned. I need some opinions here. Thanks a lot.

    What do you think?

WOW, What a TYPO. Of course it's a 1909 IHC.

MODS: can you change the title to 1909 IHC?

To me it looks like it was corroded and then cleaned - causing the pitting and porous look. Just my opinion. I can't tell if it was in the ground or not, but very well could have been.

Those were my thoughts about the damage. I think it must have been cleaned, conserved? a while back as it looks like the corrosion has stopped.

I kinda like this coin, problems and all.

The ovate hole in the feather headdress looks different than the rest of the small holes, which leads me to believe that it was "repaired" years ago and now things look stable.

There is not a bad IHC out there - just ones that are nicer than others.
