As slow is the oil business right now, I might be going out to get me a box . . .

But Oklahoma never gets any of the good stuff. My bank inquired about the '09 Lincolns, and they said no pennies were being shipped to anywhere in Oklahoma because they have an abundance of pennies...Unless they paid for them of course.

 

I can pretty much guarantee you, that if your banks aren't getting Lincoln's you have almost no chance at dimes. Reason, here in Calif we can get some penny rolls, but just stares from banks mgrs. when we ask for nickel or dimes. You need to order $2,000 worth to get your bank to order, if they even know how.

 

Yup, would probably be wasting my time.

I have bought many rolls of dimes over the last 2 months and haven't seen a single 2009 dime. I got all of mine from a friend's arcade, he lets me sort through his coins for him. I roll the nickels/Dimes/pennies, and just sort through the quarters (don't have to roll them because he puts them in his machines).

I'll be calling him tomorrow to see if he has any more dimes for me to go through.

 

Any chance you could ship some dimes my way, without searching...We could call it, an UNSEARCHED LOT...LOL

 

Sure Tmoney, just send 780 bucks to my paypal acount and you can have the dimes AND the nickels in an "unsearched" lot. lol

 

Hey Bob I am happy for you but remember even this balloon will burst, meaning get while the getting is good but get out before it bursts I think you should have a month and a half play on player then buy the coin that drives you.

 

Hello everyone...Im a brand new member here but I post on the Collectors Universe message boards under the dsame name. It is very interestting to see how much this one single dime is going for. Here is where I get excited.

My dad, who currently lives in Puerto Rico was able to get me roll after roll of the Puerto Rico quarters so after reading on several places and even searching auctions for 2009 nickels and dimes nothing absolutely came up, which resulted in me giving my dad another phone call to see if by any chance his bank actually carries 2009 dimes and nickels. I mean what are the chances for a bank in Puerto Rico to even have them, right??? Well after telling my dad how rare they are and that they have halted production and could indeed bring a nice premium to them he made a phone call to the main branch of Banco Popular. Well, lo and behold they told him that they indeed had 09' nickels and dimes but that they had to be called 1 day in advance for them to move the bags ($500 bags I believe he said) from the main cashier which i assume is the vault to one of the tellers so he could pick them up.

I have since sent him enough to get 22 rolls of dimes and 25 rolls of nickels. Unfortunately I cant get more because of the weight but if all goes well and they are indeed 09's I will be getting more. Im starting to wonder now how much a roll will sell on Ebay...hell I already have some people offering me over 3x face for rolls but looking at the auction that may be extremely low for an entire uncirc roll.

Ill keep you all updated and when they do arrive Ill post pictures. Fingers crossed, but im not holding my breath.

Yup and thats the reason i sent the money via Express mail. Timing is everything here, hell next week there could be a flood of dimes and nickels. Certainly if rolls are up for auction they could drasticalluy decrease the amount people pay for singles.

Im thinking that maybe I could do a 2009 nickel and dime set auction and do some roll auctions later on after seing the results. I dont have them on hand but its wishful thinking until the day they come in.

 

I'll bet the bidders on this are the same suckers who buy from those shills on QVC and HSN. They read the description and they bite, hook, line and sinker. They can't get their wallets out fast enough.

 

There is an appeal to being the first on your block with the shiny new coin.

 

So you can brag to.....yourself? i find it pathetic just like lots of people do to be paying such outrageous prices but we all know that there's a sucker born every minute. If I get my nicks and dimes they'll be on Ebay with the quickness. Ill help a couple of people I know but for the most part they will be auctioned off to the highest sucker, ahem I mean bidder

But man am I happy about it. I sold a $25 roll of Jefferson dollar coins that went for $22.50 on ebay....ooops, so I'm enjoying being the one with the hot item for once. It will help pay for other coins I want to buy as I actually have a tight budget with 5 kids.

It truly amazes me that these people have bid it so high. It is NUTS. Right now it is up to $26.00 and there are 375 views and 44 people who have put it on their watch list.

Ok you have sent your father the money to buy the coins, DO NOT wait for him to send them to you. Go ahead and get your auction(s) ready to run and as soon as you know your father has the coins in hand try and get someone there to take pictures and email them to you and get your auctions up (If you are absolutely sure he can get the coins you might go ahead and put th auctions up with stock images of dime and nickel rolls.) Don't bother having the rolls sent to you, just have the rolls sent to the winners from PR. That saves the time and expense of shipping them to you. Getting the auctions up SOON is the key to getting ridiculous money for them. If you wait for them to get shipped to you before you run the auctions you run the risk of a lot more people putting them up before yours arrive from PR. By having them shipped to the winners from your source in PR you can get the jump on others.
