I'll end with these medals.
The Jefferson is my favorite of everything I posted but it is probably worth the least.

 

Wow! Those medals are awesome. If you ever sell them, I hope you consider me first in line. The JA Houdon on the obverse of the Jefferson is Jean Antoine Houdon who created the bust that was the source of both the Washington design on the Lafayette Dollar and John Flanagan's interpretation on the Washington Quarter. Outstanding medals, bravo!

 

Maybe they were thinking "nice color, but it's not original mint red". Don't know if that's right, but hey... it's just a guess.

 

Wonder how the could tell, on a toned coin, such as that!!!
