My daughter found a quarter that is stamped heads on both sides. the first side is dated 1973 with no mint stamp the second side is dated 1983 and was stamped in Philadelphia. I have heard of coins being stamped with two heads or tails but not different dates. The coin is well worn on both sides. Does anyone have an idea of its value to a collector?
To a collector it's a worthless damaged coin. To an aspiring young magician, however, it's probably worth the $5 it would cost at his/her local magic shop. "Homemade" magician's quarters typically have a seam on the edge. They are created by shaving down two quarters and gluing the halves together. Professionally made two-headed coins are more sophisticated in their manufacture, and have a barely detectable seam on one side very close to the edge. They are created by hollowing out one quater and shaving both the thickness and diameter of another, and inserting the smaller one into the other.
It's not real and has no collector value except for a magician It's a not real mint error and has no collector value except for a magician.
I have a two headed quarter with different dates and has the usual copper silver seam that quarters have. It doesn't look fake
It may not look fake but it is. While one with the same date both sides would be almost impossible, one with two different dates is definitely fake.
It's possible if they tool just before the edge. One side would be a shell and the other part fits into the shell.. Like this -
I have a 1984 p mint on one side and 1985 p mint on the other side double headed quater any ideal about it
I have a Double head quarter with 2 different dates. One date is 1968. The other date is 1988. What is it worth ??
Did you read any of the answers given on this thread before you posted? It's an altered Quarter! Worth 25 cents
I don't think people bother to read the posts. They are too excited and think there will be instant money big coming their way
Thank you group. I just joined and for this discussion. I guess my wife will have to keep taking the laundry down to the river.
