These went on sale today. With the prices that were paid for the Harrisons did anybody buy the Tylers. The Tylers will have the lowest mintage of any Pres. $1 coin to date....apx. 10,000,000 less than the Harrisons that were selling for mucho bucks ( $150-$200 ) for the "P" rolls.
I heard MrMet talk about the $$$ being paid for the Harrisons so I started watching the "MINT ROLLS" and they are still selling for apx $150 per roll. When MrMet talks ......I listen...:bow::bow::bow::bow:
When Musicman talks, met listens, when met talks you listen, and when I listen, it is normally to one of you three!!!! Should I buy a roll?? I'm thinking I should...
tylers dollar won't be the lowest. next year presidents will be the lowest. mint p roll is selling at $35.95. bank roll will be selling a little bit lesser. economy might recover next or so year. coin order from banks should start afterward. said 2011. no rush to accommodate coins yet.
Could be a fluke... WHO KNOWS??? If these sell out like the harrisons, say hello to a profit if you bought them
The Mint still has the 2007 and 2008's in stock.... That could be the reason for cutting production on the 2009's.....they don't like 2 year inventories...just another way to look at it.:kewl:
the harrison mint roll is still the lowest with 30,000 set. the tyler mint roll mintage will be higher than the harrison. because the mint will allow the tyler mint roll to accommodate every collector wish. just like the cent roll second series. don't be fool.
I thought about that also....but if the Mint continues to do this it won't be long before nobody buys after the first yearly issue....I know I will stop. Hey Elaine keep us posted on the mintages....you always do a good job with those !!
Really can't tell, it all depends on if the rolls sell out or not, if they do sell out the prices might go crazy. I ordered a roll of each, you never know, and I figured even if the prices don't go crazy, I could still get my money back on eBay.
I like that, it is funny. For what it is worth, here is my take on all this (my take=0 worth). This seems to be a year here of fads and fast bucks. The Lincoln cent, Lincoln Commemerative, and now the Presidential Dollars. The low mintages on the Presidential Dollars may be setting up a highly collectable situation for our children or grandchildren, but not us really. Some people are doing very well with the fad of the Lincoln Cent, and those that are I think it is great for them. Apparently the people that are buying them at these prices in these times can afford them, and sellers picking up a few extra bucks. I love America. But, have you noticed this year it is not a year of collecting or collectabilty, but a year of making the buck. Not that it is bad, just something very significant about this year more than I've seen in the past. Now the real meat on the my "what it's worth" portion. The real coins to be trying to find are rolls of '09 Nickels and Dimes.
There is no way to predict what will happen. I'll bet we see ads on eBay like "the Harrison rolls sold out quickly, buy your Tyler rolls now while they are cheap" and the prices will probably be high for a while. But, with all these modern coins...I'll bet the prices plummet in a year or so.
I agree, Imo there is no way the Harrison, or Lincoln rolls will be selling for the crazy prices they are now in a year. I believe the 1st Lincoln prices have already started dropping.
So far, I've only got rolls of presidential dollars from the first year. I thought that they might be worth something someday. Since I got them at the bank for face value, I figured I could only lose the interest value with a few rolls of each. It seemed that banks in my area stopped ordering dollars in late 2007. I figured that I wasn't going to pay nearly $40 for a roll from the mint (counting shipping). And then came Harrison... Anyway, I'm going to pass on the Tyler's. I've already got the three sets of the presidential proof sets anyway.
Hmm they only retail at about $3 a piece in BU. The Harrisons. That's about average. Although the dollar coins are not normally as popular. There has been an increase in collectors for the presidential dollars.
