I just finished my first online Cointalk Album with my US Gold type set!! Check it out, and let me know what you think:kewl: I've got up close pictures of every one. Some of them are due for an upgrade/cleaned; but it's getting closer to what i envision.

    thanks,
    John

I love them all! That 1912 $10 is a real beauty! (Really they all are)

    Can you pick a favorite...
    I don't know that I can

    NICE GOLD SET! :)

So, do you like them being raw?
Will you ever upgrade to graded coins, or are you more of a raw collector?
Also, when will you upgrade some of the cleaned ones, I can tell that some have been cleaned :D
A very nice set, no matter what you do! :)

Thanks. Actually about half of them were purchased certified by the top 4; and I "deslabbed them" to put in my binder. Buying raw gold, especially with certain types can be quite scary.....

Yeah, my 1839-O quarter eagle has fairly heavily abraided surfaces. May be cleaned; but probably years ago. It's actually the "rarest" coin I own by mintage.

My favorite is the $3 gold coin of 1854. Awesome color on that one, and it is the only one that is still slabbed. ANACS AU-55

    "DESLABBED" Oh...
Well, I would never personally do that, but if it makes ya' happy
You can always re slab them, right?
Anyway, nice coins! Make me drool, slabbed or not!

LOL. Yes, there are coin collectors like myself who will contest that coins display better side by side in an album, as opposed to plastic certified tombs...:D Did you check out the album page? But yes, if I were going to resell, I'd consider reslabbing some of them.

I kept the $3 gold in the plastic for 3 reasons.
    a) It is very heavily counterfeited
    b) there is no hole in my dansco for it
    c) it's probably my most valuable coin

Well that was smart, even though I would have kept them all in those plastic tombs, you call them... :D
Good luck with your type set..(They are all filled up, what are you going to do now??? LOL)
