I here lots of talk about gold and silver bullion coins but i never here about people buying platinum. Does anyone have any or collect it?
Platinum and Palladium coins are more expensive, less known and scarcer to find, not to mention in most cases they are very limited issues that already cost much more than bullion so they are not a good investement! Have fun collecting!
I have a 1/10 oz U.S. platinum, bought in the carefree days of my bachelorettehood. http://www.geocities.com/chrystawilson/bullion.html
I recently looked through my coins for something to sell. You see I already spent my coin budget and want to raise cash. Well I found a 1/2 oz Platinum Statue of Liberty coin in PCGS PR 69 DCAM. Nice looking, heavy, thing but it just isn't my main focus. In fact I didn't even remember having it! I eventually want every type of coin ever made by any country bullion or not However I need to focus! So for right now I am only buying US proof type. I estimate it will take me 20 years to finish a complete US type set, not including commems or bullion. (pssst, anybody looking for Platinum?)
That's my probem too. Spending too much money. I am doing to the same thing - sorting out things that are not on my focus list, and selling to raise cash for my focus. GMTA
Quite a while back I started a thread on the Platinum eagles. Here it is so take a look. I think it will be a set that may produce some outstanding results in the future. Search the Threads for.............started 03-10-2006 "The 1/10th oz Plat Eagles" RickieB
I rarely see any at the local shows, and when it is offered there is no great demand for it. In fact, I haven't seen it in a while, but saw some palladium about a month ago. Good Luck.

I generally stick to gold, silver and copper since I want my entire collection to originate from the same column in the periodic table of elements.
I have a complete set 1/10th oz coins. I might have to start an uncirc set since I just got the 1/10th uncirc. from the mint - today. I haven't decided.
