Beware of the thumbnails. Don't hurt yourself trying to guess the color - in my opinion some are right and some are wrong on the slab, but none are red. All are PCGS, NGC, and ANACs - all are in the 62 to 65 range, but I believe only one needs to be replaced. Which one do you think it is? Have fun and all comments are welcome. As it the 08-S and the typically overgraded 09-S(my opinion) are not part of this - BUT a hint the 08-S is the same grade as the one I will probably upgrade. Now to post second set of images. For some reason it limits me to 18(if I counted right). First set of images:
Yeah - but pick the one I think needs to be replaced. It should be easy - at least I see what is the problem. Oh - and the hole in the run will be filled with a coin from the penny lady this week. Along with one of two holes in the 80's.
Yep - you nailed. The finger print and the mint luster just make it looked scuffed. It looks better in person, but not much. I never really noticed it until I got bored tonight and decided to takes some pictures. With them all sitting next to each other it really looked out of place. Will try the 1880's next time I get bored.
Once again these are amazing coins! Makes my G-F indian head cent set look terrible! LOL I still got like 30 pennies to go with that set... OH BOY
I don't think so, the 09-S will probably be replaced someday in the distant future - just not soon. The 92 is the one I might actively look to replace first. I am really down to 3 dates for me to call this collection complete - 1889(AU coin), 1870(have it just low grade and raw) - and maybe the 1886 type II coin. The 1894 and 1885 are on the way. Thanks for the comments!
No problem - it is a MS-62 graded bg ANACs I also have a dansco album and a whitman album going. The original concept was as I purchased one for the high grade set, the raw coin or slabbed coin would go into the dansco album. Any coin there would then move to the whitman album. I have no clue how many coins I need for those two sets - I know I need at least the big two major keys. Don't get confused I like them in any grade. I will work on those next, but have to finish this first.
Love that second-to last 1909, i can't say that i've ever come across a better looking IHC than that.
Very nice set Mark, very beautiful coins - and I didn't place you as the same Mark who just bought those two coins from me! Thank you - and they should fit nicely in with the rest of these beauties.
