The coin arrived yesterday, and was the kick I needed in order to pick up my camera and try to do some numismatography for the first time in months.

Are you far from a complete IHC collection?
(I'm not talking R9 varieties here...)

Those ancients are very intriguing. I have a few dozen pieces, and a few reference/identification books, but I haven't had the time to delve into them as I would like to.

At this point, I'm not sure how complete my IHC accumulation is. I've been buying a lot of IHCs and large cents at the auctions that I've been going to. I did buy some Dansco albums for both of those series a few months ago, but again, haven't had time to fill the holes. To make an estimate, I'd say 90% complete on the IHCs and maybe 50% on the large cents. Considering I don't actively pursue those series I suppose that's not too bad. There are just too many good deals that I have trouble passing up.

Wow, a 1944-D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67 with FS (full steps). You don't see that every day. Just kinda thrown in there with the other stuff. Nice pick up, now post a close up, please.....

No not really, it is too common on these. Besides, I think I don't own this coin anymore :). Who do you think stole it away from me?

Just looked in my safe. I have about a 1/2 roll of raw 24-d's and about 10 slabbed.........quite a few are rotated the same 8 degrees or so. I have never seen one with more rotation than that, but if it were, most error collectors dont splurge on key dates, in many cases it will bring a value down.

    Here's my latest great pickup:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=280343424191

    They are:

    1786 M5.6-M Connecticut (R-5+):

The weakness of the bust is normal for these so this should grade at least corroded Fine. :D

    1800 S-201 (R-4+):

The worn reverse is from a die bulge and the obverse die was damaged so the weakness on the bottom left of the bust is also normal, so this one should also grade corroded Fine. :D

The other two are a 1803 S-253 (R-2) & 1807 S-276 (R-1), which I also needed for my DBC collection so I ended up needing all four and that made the group even better. :D

I bought the group for the Connecticut alone and it's worth more than I paid, but the S-201 ended up being almost as good, if not as good or better than the Connecticut so I made out big-time! :D Also, I had asked the seller for better pics of the Connecticut so I knew what it was when I bid but I didn't ask for pics of the DBC's, so I was hopping all over the place yesterday when I attributed the 201, since that one is so difficult to find and when it is found, it goes for quite a bit more than I paid for the entire group. :goofer: So this group has become one of my best purchases on Ebay! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Ps: I've had one more group of coins that beat this group but the seller lost the package so I never got them. :(

I'm still all giddy on the inside over that S-201, Eduard. :D That, along with the S-202, have been on my list to get for some time now and I'm always looking for them but they always go so high that I'm left spitting the dust out of my mouth that's left behind by the higher bidders. ;)

As to condition, it has a ton of detail still left and although corroded, I can easily live with this as being my example for this variety but if I ever get to the point of almost completing my collection and I can afford it, I wouldn't mind a better example. :thumb:

    Ribbit :)
