Ask all the people who ordered the UHR about back order... lol Lots of people, just had there order canceled, along with the people who were on back order for the lincoln dollar!
I wonder if some of these people on eBay know there is limit. They have all these pre-sale things, but will they be able to fulfill them? Was there any limits per household on the log cabin pennies (I was absent for those)?
I think it was the same 5 sets per household... They might be asking family members to put it on their credit cards, and they just reimburse them
Exactly. That's what I did a couple years ago when the 2006 silver eagle anniversay set came out. I got my 10 set limit and had 5 friends do the same. I also did it for the Jefferson spouse when the limit was 1 per household. I just ordered my 5 boxes of cents and got 3 friends to order their 5 sets for me as well. It's worth the risk to see if these perform like the log cabins. I hope the formative rolls sell out fast so the rolls that I have in hand and on order will see a nice bounce. This new cent looks real nice.
Yep, I'm with ya 100% Can only afford two sets though...But it'll be worth it, if these pull a log cabin!
just got my email from my order. I get my 5 sets on 6/15. Way to go Mint. How hard is it to roll 50000 sets and send them out, I guess a month long process.
I'd be surprised if anyone sees these ship before July. When I was at the Mint HQ this morning, they reloaded the sales counter. Two guard pushed a cart to the front with 50 boxes of cents. I was like, man ...that like $25,000 on ebay right now. I guess that's why the guards had guns ..pushing $2,750 worth of copper covered zinc around...hahahahaha.
Limit was 6 rolls per person at each locations. The counter is in the lobby and is essentially a 3 foot long display case. They stacked the boxes of cents in the back along the wall and the woman just ripped into them as people moved through the line. Everyone was real nice and the wait wasn't long at all. Union station was a bit more disorganized but the crowd was larger. They could have used an extra person behind the counter to help out.
Ahhh, okay, I thought it was 5, but I didn't see anything on the mint website about it, when I ordered
No ..you can only order 5 P&D sets from the mint site. The 1 to 1 exchange was for bank rolled cents ..not mint wrapped ones. For the 1 to 1 exchange you could get 6 rolls but they are all P.
Parsons ..you might want to put "Formative years" or "Formative" in your ebay title bar. I searched "rail splitter" and there were the only a few hits so you could be missing alot of traffic without formative in your title. That might effect your bottom line if folks can't find you. I don't knowof many folks that call them rail splitter. Just a suggestion for what it's worth. Best of luck with the auction ..I hope you get atleast $50 a roll.
Yeah and from what I observed in the LP1 craze, it was the U.S. Mint roll wrapper that pushed everyone into a frenzy. The plain bank wrapped rolls didn't command nearly as much of a premium. What I don't understand is that there are people currently bidding on evilbay for LP2 preorder rolls and bidding higher than if they were to order the rolls themselves directly from the mint??? -LTB
For those of you who ordered early, you should verify the system processed your order correctly. I ordered at 12:13 PM, but for some reason when I checked my order it showed it as 12:13 AM! I was paranoid of course, because I thought the mint wouldn't honor the order. So I called the US Mint up and had them verify everything, and I'm all set. If I were you I would check though, because you just can't trust the US Mint system on days like these!
Mine said PM actually so Im good to go I hope. I, too, dont think these things will ship until early July as well. For those looking to sell on ebay that will give ample time for the mint rolls to sell out. Then the prices on ebay will go absolutely nuts.
